There was a thread a week or two ago where some anons were speculating that this will be the movie that saves western traditional animation (it's the only major non-3D western animated motion picture coming out for the foreseeable future) and will spur a renaissance in traditional western animation, but I doubt this given the very fact that it's MLP and lots of people won't give it a chance because of this
The potential for it to be good is there because Big Jym and most of the other S6 staff aren't working on the movie
I honestly don't know what to expect for the near future but my fingers are crossed for it to be good

The show was good. The show was never perfect or the best thing ever. It was a well done show with an interesting setting and cast that I haven't seen before. 6 independant women building a friendship with oneanother in a psudo-fantasy setting while maintaining personal goals is pretty unique. Hell, there aren't many fantasy settings that have an all female main character cast.

I'm scared because they only managed to make season 1 finale fit with the show and did a good job making season 2 opener and the second half of the season 3 ending be good recap/summary episodes. I have a fear it will be heavy adventure meaning it won't be what the show had drawing in people initially. I'm still going to take off of work and see it in theaters no matter what I hear about it and I will be slightly happier that there won't be 40 idiots screaming and shouting through the movie because of the drop in the fanbase, but I'm still scared of what they're going to make and if it will feel satisfying like the second half of the third season finale.

As the show dips in quality, people justify why they think it's still good and stick around to write self insert characters, original character stories with the universe, and create porn of the characters. The signs have always been there and now all the front page is covered with is that kind of shit. I know it's hiatus, but even when the show was airing, you would get a thread talking about new episodes for a day or two after release and then they got flooded out.
