Salvia and sativa are 2 different things.
Weed falls in 2 major categories: indicas (body high) and sativas (head high). Indicas make you relaxed and chilled and sativas, from my experience, can make you productive. All in moderation ofc.

I don't need to try drugs in order to know that I wouldn't like them.
When someone describes to me what a riding a rollercoaster is like, then I won't know exactly what it is like either, but I can still make an educated decision on whether this is something for me. Same with drugs.
Having lived with a father who is a serious alcoholic that gave me head issues, I want nothing more than to stay away from mind-altering and addictive substances. The very thought of something I take changing my mind feels like a nightmare to me. If I were to try weed, I would probably just have a mental breakdown.
I don't want to have any friends that take any kind of drug, which is why ponies feel like a safe space to me.

There has been plenty of research on the effect of drugs on people, so I guess there is a lot of definitive things to say about that topic, even if you haven't tried it first-hand.
