Dude, I'm not going to say that you aren't decent at art and all but your stuff is really stiff compared to Fosgitt. People like to shit on him for his style, and I agree it looks weird for pony stuff but uh...he's still a really good artist for what he's doing. Also you have some issue with proportions that I've noticed (long luna). The facial expression are kinda...they aren't very expressive. I mean you're on the right track and I have no doubts you'll make it someday, but right now you just need to keep working on it.

The original is better when it comes to a sense of expressing fluid action, character angles, and exaggerated facial emotions.

You have a better sense of proportions with a cleaner style. That's better suited for superhero comics as opposed to one based on cartoons.

Well you see Ant-man, it's not about the money, it's about drawing ponies. I like drawing ponies, the more ponies I get to draw the better my life is in overall. It's not about drawing like anyone else either, It's about bringing personal interpretation of the ponies to people too. Also I've heard you people who have said my stuff is too stiff and needs more dynamic poses, I will work on that, i won't go Fosgitt way, but I can work on improving on my own style accordingly. The page layout part is harder since Bobby was very ambiguous on his feedback and only mentioned the on a page I drew of Fosgitt's work. I don't know if he looked my other stuff even with the links, likely scanned through it quickly to see if anything jumps out. I admit that my mileage as comic cartoonist is shorter than one I have as concept artist or as a biologist, but I am sure that in a few years I'll meet the requirements. In the meantime I'll be hitting google and books about page layouting and try to self-educate in where the art school apparently failed.

Failed seems like a strong word for it.

Your work looks like you've followed instructions well enough. Similar to a paint by numbers with the anatomy when you're drawing Anon on stream.

But when it comes to drawing a cartoony style (which I'm guessing IDW wants more of from your work) some of those rules go out the window.

Personally I like your comics as is and a more cartoony Anon would throw it off and I'm not sure if he would mix well with that style applied to the ponies.

I am being completely and totally honest when i say this. Fucking dobson could do a better mlp comic than fossgit. DOBSON.
Don't get me wrong, they're both shit.
But fossgit's work on the mlp comics is a special brand of horrible, the kind that shows the artist gives absolutely no fucks about the show, or even dong a good job on his work.
Which is a shame, because i'm sure if he put in the effort of learning the proper anatomy, getting better with colour theory, and filling in some backgrounds he could be great because he does have an expressive style and can occasionally make a cute face.
But what he gives is a mediocre, cheap looking product that actively deters people from buying more comics.
And that fucking sucks, because i love me some ponies and want to be able to enjoy a wealth of stories and especially visual media with them.
