Probably because Garble's a guy. Discord gets a free pass because he's fucking Fluttershy, but none of the male antagonists seem bent on turning from their ways. Fuck it, I'll do something of a shitty prompt, but don't expect much.

She gets of the shower smelling of cocoa butter and jasmine. Droplets of water careen down her form, between her full hips shimmering lavender in the dim light of the apartment complex. The towel Barb holds up against her chest did little to dry her off. Heck, she even wonders why she even needs a towel given the fact she could essentially blow dry herself with a spout of dragon fire. But no. Thinking that bodly caused an unfortunate scorching on the far wall. Her landlord was absolutely livid about when he caught whiff of the telltale smell of smoke. The dumpy dragon practically tore her fins out, trundling all over the place as if he were walking out of a 60s Nippones flick. Hell, the wallpaper was peeling off anyway, Barb rationalized. If anything, she should sue for the building not being up to code without those fire alarms. Not that she'd need them, of course. Being a dragon has its perks concerning all things incendiary. No, she figures as she sprawls out on her cot.

What would really help would be the flow of bits from the settlement. Barb was never the one who was adept at prioritizing her savings. Even as a child she blew much of her allowances Twilight gave her on weekly comic books and toys. It was one of her (admittedly few, if Barb would have you believe) character flaws. The acquisition of this very apartment even had some setbacks due to continual video games she'd reward herself with. After splerging on a swanky new off-the-shoulder dress, the only things she had to her name were the frozen fishsticks in the freezer and a couple cans of Spaghettios in the cabinet. Oh. And a few topazes and rubies for midnight snacking. Barb rested a claw over her tightening chest. It was night, and the dull red light of the lantern mingled with the jaundiced light of the bulb over her tiny kitchen.

Sure, Barb was always given the time of day when she was as small and cute as a filly. Hitching a ride on Twilight's back was practically made her day. But now that she's grown well past her teens, it's as if the dragoness held a sort of menace only ponies could feel. There were whispers wondering what the townsfolk should do if she kept on growing. Twilight didn't like to show it, how it hurt her to see people coniving against her Barb, and wanted her to pay no attention towards them. Barb suspected there were plans to move back to Canterlot after overhearing a conversation with her mother. It was these times that Barb hardly came out of her room. She'd imagine she eould groe as big as a house, scoop all of her loved ones on her back, and fly off to some far off lands on her majestic powerful wings for adventures.

8/10, well written and a nice slow build to a satisfying end. other than some of the extra long pauses with extensive ellipsis use, there wasnt much to complain about. i understand the point was to convey it was a long silence, but its a very sloppy way to do so.

speech seems a bit hamfisted. far too much stuttering, which is a problem many writers have when writing someone thats nervous. an easy trick to writing smooth conversations is to spend a few minutes focusing on each characters personality, and then just playing the scenario out by roleplaying each character. what would anon say? how would spike respond? and so on until its over. needless to say, when you actually think about real conversations with people they hardly ever stutter, if they do at all. writing it as every other word in every single sentence is just distracting as fuck.
anon being gay was a bit over done. you dont need to continually explain everything. the audience could figure it out with context clues and actions.
i couldnt help but notice the writer points out that spike and anon havent really had any interactions at all in about 4 years. why did they instantly form a bond of trust?
its difficult to bend a characters personality to suit the scenario, but to break it completely just ruins everything. that is to say spike is a large dragon now, and even when he was a kid he stood up to shit that could have instantly killed him. that wouldnt stop just because he decided he likes to look feminine. add to it that ponies are inherently cowards theres no feasible way spike would be the victim of physical bullying. hes got 2' at least on everyone. thats not even mentioning he was pretty much universally love by all the ponies. its just not something i can buy. at some point of changing everything you might as well just be using your own OCs.

could have done without the "if they hate you, its cuz theyre just fags in denial" bit. some people are just assholes who hate shit that doesnt conform to how they think the world should be. hell, you see it around the board all the time. it not like atheists who hate christians are christians in denial, etc. especially going on to say its scientifically proven. its as bad as the political platforming jeremy does in his comics. if you want to write a story, just do it. dont turn it into your soapbox.

anyway, OC femspike at least has a consistent personality. anon as well, although there isnt much to either. oddly enough the most in character and interesting pony was twilight. despite the hamfisted beginning, around the middle it began building at a much more pleasant pace and lead up to the obvious conclusion. a lot of content felt like it could have been left out and barely played any role in anything, such as the bullies, visiting AJ (which then said they were drunk but i dont recall them drinking that day), and all the other small problems that were resolved instantly. conflict makes a story more interesting if theres going to be a lot to it, but if you just want a short slice of life tale, which is what this felt like it was going for, then just do that instead. dont bring in unecessary plot devices.
overall not my cup of tea, but i think the writer has potential.

I've finished it now and although i really didn't like the ending it was alright overall. I feel as if Fizzle should have had the scene with Garble and everyone knowing he was gay when he moved to ponyville and then having something happen there, like some bullshit drama or just more in-depth slice of life. Seemed as if the transformation shit at the end was kinda shoehorned in, I saw it coming when he was feeling that Dragon semen but I don't really get why other than what was stated that he was pretty dragon-like. Seemed pointless.

Appreciate the feedback. Like I said, first green ever, and it started as a one shot so, there was a lot of shoehorning. The ending was kinda what the thread wanted at the time, so there wasn't a lot of foreshadowing. Plus I made a lot of beginner errors with how greentext works (Anon being mute save for one line, for example).
But glad it wasn't too rough on the eyes, even 3 years later.
