Everytime I see this scene it hits me like a freight train.
One of my favorite moments in the whole show, certainly the best feels.
Not enough praise can be given to whoever saw the untapped potential in Big Mac and Applebloom's relationship.

That scene had feels, but it's more fear, foreboding, anticipation, and accepting both change and the future.
We all knew what was about to happen, and the final calm before the storm was a sweet and slow ballad.
It was a huge moment for the show and the turning point of everything.
The futility of the change, the future foreseeably dark and grim, all these thoughts and feelings plagued our mind whilst Celestia's calm voice serenades us over the beautifully grand and serene backing piano melody.
It was truly a great happening.

Yeah. I don't know if I'd call it "sad", but a IMO one of the best scenes was in TRoH when Twilight goes upstairs to tell Spike to pack up, that they're leaving. That whole scene ties the episode really well into S1's story arc. Actually, if there ever was a point in the show where it could've ended without feeling too incomplete or rushed, it was probably this episode.
