I joined in June 2011. The fandom, that is.

Started browsing /mlp/ in June of this year.

Got into the show near the end of season 2. I was on 4chan a lot then, but mostly only on /tg/ and /fit/; never more than casually dipped into /mlp/. My fan interaction was mostly through IRC and fanfiction sites (was it FiMFiction then?).
Sometime during the hiatus after Season 3 my interest in the whole thing sort of waned. I was feeling like a fan of the fandom, that kind of shit. I didn't watch season 4 as it aired, and I slowly stopped checking the websites, stopped logging into the channels.

Around thanksgiving I got sort of depressed, and ended up rewatching some of the series for a need to do something. Then one day I was on 4chan for porn, and an mlp thread was one of those little latest thread things. I clicked on it and I've been coming back several times a day since then.

Just about caught up to where I was.

I started watching the show during the S4-S5 hiatus, after seeing fan-content on youtube. I got interested, finished the 4 seasons during the summer, and went on from there. I mostly stuck to youtube for the community. Then, a few months ago, I started browsing this board.

Its been 3 years. Never really watched the cartoons. Watched them a lil and just gathered background of characters to the fiction. I started reading the fiction and would be up all night reading them. My enjoyment of mlp was never the cartoons but what all the fans wrote. And if anything i would like to thank all the writefags out there for all the smiles and feels that you have bestowed upon me in these years. Thankyou

Got off the ride sometime soon after the first EqG movie, July or August '13. It didn't even take much effort or heart straining to get off, I genuinely just didn't really care for the show anymore. Lived a pretty normie life for a few years, get degree, get job, get gf
Rejoined a little over a month ago and I've been back to frequently watching episodes, coming to this board daily and getting attached to and falling back in love with top cunt just like in the old days.

College Friend told me about show and fandom around summer 2011, watched series opener, didn't get into it. Found again through youtube fan content midway through season 2 and got into it then. Introduced to 4chan by my roommate wootmaster around the time of the faustening. Been quietly lurking/shitposting since. Still love the show and less cancerous parts of the fandom, no regrets.
