Agreed that he gives us content, but one can't compare a quality comic with a shitty/easy greentext or retarded threads. If we are considering him the best namefag then he should be measured with other namefags that provide content of similar quality (in whatever field that may be) or that have had a healthy participation with the board's community in a way that contributed to the betterment of it.
I agree that he has given us reaction faces and some funny comic pages, but that's about it. At this point the comic has degenerated quite a bit and is only still being posted here instead of in his tumblr (like a thousand other free online comics do) because it originated here and it entertains Pencils to see anons throw tantrums and get triggered into another dimension with every new "questionable" addition. Katrina threads popping up everywhere is an example of that.
That being said however, I honestly don't know of who else to propose as a namefag of the year since this year was full of shit, so you might as well have Pencils unless, on the subject of posting high quality content, someone nominates one of the guys that worked on the MLP Music EP or a talented writefag from threads like Heart of War, Hunter Anon, My Little Progress, or Time After Time.

If his comic was just that and didn't feature all the furry fetish shit I'd be putting his name down for sure but I just can't shake the feeling that pone is the least of his interests and he's just pandering to us with it because we need content and he needs fans but that doesn't mean his true colours keep rearing their furry heads in the comic. Say whatever else you like, I defy anyone to post here and tell me that Pencil's comic is well written and based entirely on MLP because it damn well isn't.
