I dont really like the >pony teleports outside Anons house deal, seems forced and unexplained, and later when it is explained it definitely seems forced.

Theres a few times when Fs tells anon something and he`ll say for example

or >"Zecora, she's the zebra you mentioned before, right?"
I dont think he needs to say this aloud, maybe when Fs is explaining equestria i would have written something like
>She talked for hours about her home, her friends, her animals, you questioned her about magic and cutie marks blahblahect
so you are implying that anon has knowledge of these things (as the reader does) so when fs mentions them he could internally say something like
>You remember her mentioning cutie marks before, you think something relevant to the story about them

The end of ch 4 with the dead squirrels, anon is trying to apologise about the squirrels and it turns into being sorry for himself and it all feels like a really weird forced way to get a kiss off fs (but in a writing way, not in anons character if you see how i mean). I think this is more an issue with greens and the >'pony teleports outside' mechanic, needing to build a strong enough relationship for lewds in less than the attention span of your readers

I read it. On a basic writing level it's not bad, maybe good.

It's somehow very gripping. I don't know if that's just my reaction to it or what, but I stayed up all night reading the first part. It's pretty emotionally strenuous and dire all the way through, with little relief.
It begins with a pretty explicit scene; after that most of the soul-deadening horror is more implied and fade to black instead of directly described. (The physical kind at least. The emotional is still pretty front and center.)
I'd say one of the main themes is that sometimes everything is fucked, the world is bad, and even the best of a hand of bad options still ends up hurting people.

It's not done yet. Not even closure, much less everything being a little less sad.
part 2 was uploaded in March. The writer seems to still post stuff though.

As one tends to see in long serial fiction, there's a certain amount of discrepancy between beginning and end, like in social/legal situation and some of Anon's characterization.

There are "federal crimes" in the story, but the only real world place that has that legal category is the US, and would require crossing state lines to be relevant. It's like they thought it was a random synonym for "serious".

Most importantly, why did both RD and Anon randomly forget when he responded: "surprise me", which any judge in the real world would consider consent, unless they also agreed that anon was legitimately physically threatened into saying that. She's athletic, but she's still a girl vs a football player.

Obviously there's a lot of leeway since it's explicitly a different world with blue women and what not, but at least a little bit of verisimilitude would be nice.

On a certain level, I'm a little gratified by treating seriously female on male rape, rape with victim orgasm, and rape that doesn't end with the victim a shuddering PTSD-ridden wreck; and acknowledging the existence of more subtle threats than a literal knife to the neck. (even if it's a little tumblr-y)
But this gets straight into cringe territory.

It's not really the legal trivia, that's just easy to bring up, the real issue is everyone's reaction to the events.

It reads clearly that the author invented this conflict after they'd been serializing it in a thread or two for a while, so he couldn't go back and revise it.

A revised scene would've been fine. A cool idea might be showing it from RD's point of view, describing him as "shy", while reading between the lines and the reactions later show that he was not on board with it at all.
That'd bury most of the complaints it's reasonable to make about greentext. Still self-insert wish fulfilling crap.
Just blithely glossing over the ass-pinch compared to everything else; or AJ giving a haymaker to somebody who'd just been unconscious (don't do this folks).

It didn't need to be revised though. It could've concentrated more on the unambiguously skeevy parts of what she did: trickery, locked room with no lights, and physical assault plus literal forcible sexual contact with that kiss. Anon getting into it after that--kissing her, groping her ass, verbal consent to do something--doesn't grant retroactive consent for any of that bullshit, it just makes "rape" and "prison" sound histrionic.

Admittedly, it would've made it harder to use one of my favorites parts of the story: the Machevellian aspect of Celestia pushing the decision on what to tell the student body to Anon.

And the viewpoint characters aren't in the thick of the darkest parts of the situation.

I used to be the hack that vomited out low-quality green. Then as time went on I refined my skills and now care more about quality than quantity, to the point where rather than writing a story every 1 - 3 days, I write one roughly every month, if that.

My standards for my own work are now so high I'm not even sure I should be writing greentext anymore. I read stories on FiMFiction now, rather than anything in greentext generals. Greentext is still fun to write, but I feel like I need to move on.

I do know somebody that got CPS involved in their lives, and the realism of somebody trapped in near poverty having few resources and little understanding of the system being harmed by the incompetence of social workers hit hard (it's insane how often they just ignore procedure and the resources they're supposed to look into before doing things like this).

The same issue for how hard it is to access resources, like getting a second opinion from a doctor that isn't completely incompetent.
Even knowing how shockingly shit doctor's can be and still graduate, a diagnosis of childhood Alzheimer's (while mispronouncing it) almost broke suspension of disbelief.
Actually, the descriptions of the kid sound so similar to Heller's Syndrome that I wonder if the author knew that drug babies that are adopted or sent to foster care immediately after birth are only barely statistically behind normal kids, and so they included discrimination and stupidity that prevented the kid from getting a real diagnosis that might have lead to some kind of help.
(And her breaking clear for a bit at the end reminded me of that tear jerking That Mitchell and Webb Look skit of Old Sherlock with dementia.)

I decided to continue a bit more with Homecoming, since there was stuff to like about it. Plot points, turns of phrase, etc.
I finished reading part one and got a decent bit into part 2, but couldn't go further, so I'll bump the thread with my final review.
Even if I imagined a complete retcon of that one scene, there's still a lot that's just hard to read. It's easy enough to imagine the main girls having staunch moral characters to direct their actions, but for some other characters, like Rainbow Blaze, I still found too many reactions overblown.

It's one of the more common problems in writing.
There's a lot of room for wish-fulfillment stories, where lots of things go the main character's way, or they have something special about them, have very few flaws, etc. That on its own does not make for a bad story, and honestly, it's a lot of what I look for in green. Lust pheromone, waifu finding, harem herds, etc.
But it crosses a line when it turns into reality warping, making characters or events act the way the author wants, rather than how you'd expect them to go from based on what the writer has established already. So I couldn't continue.

The funny thing is, it's almost got a similar enough premise that I keep confusing parts of the two.
It's slightly less well written; some of it's so awkward I legitimately suspect ESL.
Despite what I just said about wish-fulfillment stories, that's most of why I stopped reading this one. Too much overblown about the character. Too much chance and circumstance that ends up with three to five girls in love with him. He's from the mean streets of Detrot and soooo badass (I'm rolling my eyes here).
That said, I really like the way it plays with Anon's moral ambiguity.

Not the best to most people but I really did enjoy the small lime-light crack-pone had. Still remains my personal favorite. Just can't seem to find it again though.
