So I haven't read pony fanfics since 2011.
Did I miss anything? I want to do some light reading before bed.

No humans, please. I like the "pony" part of "My Little Pony"
>>29046724
I remember people losing their shit over this, though I don't remember a lot about the story. Might pick it up.
If it'd help, I'm looking for fun slice of life or adventure stories. Clop is fine as long as the plot backs it up and OCs are tolerated.
Readily available pdf downloads are also appreciated.

Jesus Christ you've missed everything.

That's nothing compared to some of the other long fics.

Jesus motherfucking Christ, I don't know whether I should admire this kid, or be repulsed be the sheer level of autism.

some of these people dont make a coherent story, they just write and write.

if you haven't yet, look up Exchange. Anon and Celestia green turned into prose, with a lovely quick adventure on top.

but you have to read the preguel first
its pretty long too
Top results from >>>/mlp/fimfic 's voting a couple years ago. Just ignore the numbers, all the stories on here are pretty good.

He's a literally who I found a couple years ago in /sun/. He's written a couple handfuls of oneshots, mostly stuff focused on Celestia. But he's also got a couple long greens. Has a knack for describing nature and writing sad and comfy scenes.

I was about to call you a faggot for making another "wat did I miss lol xD" thread, but you seem like an alright guy.
Has anyone read this series?

Not like I'd expect anyone to.

SS&E tends to be good, but that's too damn long

I read up through about chapter 150 of book 8 (last I checked it was currently at chapter fucking 350 or something, still in book 8).
Book 1 is great, definitely worth reading.
Book 2 is the start of the Ledomare arc. It starts out good but then starts going to shit.
Book 3 is shit.
Book 4 is also shit, but slightly better because the Ledomare arc finally wraps up toward the end of it.
Book 5 is where it finally starts picking up.
Book 6 is great again, slogging through all that Ledomare bullshit finally pays off.
Book 7 is also great, it's like book 1 again, before the series started accumulating side characters by the dozen.
Book 8 starts of kind of meh, but gets better.
I've only read through half of book 8, but given that the author has suddenly dropped two of the series' major gimmicks (daily updates, and exactly 200 chapters per story), I can only assume the story has gone completely off the rails somehow.

Rather late but tis a long read anyway

May seem OOC but later on it ties it all togheter pretty well imo

I'm currently kinda stuck in book 3 because I can't seem to find the motivation to read through it, glad I'm not the only one who thinks that it isn't as good.
Also on an alt. account he said that he's going through some personal bullshit at the moment and he's currently trying to get his life back on track
>>29047388
I've read it all. It's on the hiatus now, but used to update daily. I caught up near the end of the Urohringr and let me tell you, it's a completely different experience as you're in a constant state of cliffhanger. Agreed about the Ledomare part being shit(though Searo and Xona parts were cool). Check it out if you have nothing to do.
I really enjoyed this one.

This one is quite long, but it's got laughs and feels all throughout.

Someone's even making comic version of it. Or at least teying to.

Yep, book 3 is definitely the worst. It does introduce you to some characters who are important later on, but it also introduces you to a bunch of randos who are gone by the end of book 4.
>on an alt. account he said that he's going through some personal bullshit at the moment
That explains dropping the chapter-a-day system. But by the time book 8 is gone, it's going to be longer than any two other books in the series, combined. That looks to me like a serious failure in story planning.

just checked and it seems like I only have a couple of chapters in Innavedr left, I'll finish it and see if I can get back into it.
>>29046671
that might just be me, but I really enjoy the stuff from BronyWriter, you could give "the secret life of Rarity" or "No, I Am Not A Brony, Get Me Outta Equestria!" a try.
SLoR starts slow, but catches up towards the end.
The end and the 2 Sequels are actually pretty sadthat might just be me again tho. I cried.

I've had this in my queue for as long as I've had a queue, and I'm not sure I'll ever read it. Two things I generally hear about it: it's very good, and it's very sad. It's the sad bit that's keeping me from diving in.
>>29051450
I definitely need to check it out then. I love sad.
