Composition and Orchestration are the most objective and thus most important when determining quality of music

Those who are more experienced, skilled, trained and knowledgeable. They tend to be far more objective judges than someone who deems something to be "good" because they happen to like the pretty noise they hear. Its the same reasons Ateliers still have students do master studies of the old masters, and the reason the old masters copied their masters brushstroke for brushstroke.

When I try to come up with the "best" I need to think of things that really balance the music and the vocals. Many musicians are talented instrumentalists, but can't sing worth a shit, and some decent vocalists just aren't very good at producing music. I try to think of things that I would find acceptable as radio play on a decent station (not top 40 shit).

Replacer has some good ones, and this is probably the closest thing I would consider to the "objectively best" song. While I wouldn't consider him an amazing vocalist, he is competent enough to stand above most of the rest of the fandom. The song is well written and well performed, and God, I love that solo:

Personally, I adore ThatSonofaMitch.
He only ever uploaded 6 (SIX) pieces, two of which were remixes, but First Night Alone is still my favorite song from this fandom and I love it.
Not because it's objectively good, or pony centered. Every lyric is dripping with philosophy, and the song tells a story without "telling" a story. It's really chill, something to just zone out to if you need it. There's such a sense of heart and soul poured into it that I love about it, no matter if the music is objectively good.
