That specific film or the franchise? That film is not my favorite, but I kinda like the franchise, I like the music, which is/was one of my favorite things in the show too, the visual style is awful but somehow the films still remind me of the show, and finally the main reason: I don't care about most the characters.
That last part might seem contradictory, but I love the ponies too much, I have a bad time when I watch a terrible episode, and this season had a fucking bunch of terrible episodes. When I watch EqG, I don't care much about the characters so, even if the film is bad, it doesn't matter.

I remember first watching it. I didn't expect much and it honestly didn't surprise me at all. It didn't even feel like a movie. Just some weird spin off tv show with a long ass pilot. I gave rainbow rocks a shot too and it was a little better but still just another long ass episode of a tv show. Hardly felt like it was a movie at all let alone something worth watching again. Even the not so great episodes of MLP felt more worth the watch than EQG. My only real motivation to watch them is just so I'm aware of them and what happens.

people were probably afraid that it was going to be the next main thing from Hasbro, leaving FiM to writhe and die on the cross that they crucified Twilight with
it (the alicornation) literally came the fuck out of nowhere

but it is finally coming into its own with their new powers and getting away from high school (I hope)
and with the 3 specials next year with a strong possibility of a show after those and with Ishi being passionate about EqG, it just might have a bright future as long as Hasbro keeps their fingers out of it as much as possible
