Her entire, small character progression arc was learning to not be so obsessed with popularity and getting praise, and it ended with an episode where she almost ruined Rarity's career before happily going to sleep. This is meaningless. AJ travelled to live with relatives, who housed and watched after her. Her age at the time can not be assumed from what you flippantly pull out of your ass as reasonable with absolutely no explanation or validation. 10. Totally random, totally arbitrary, totally unfounded.

Going to the city and coming back from it unescorted is also totally irrelevant, as their world is not our world and our expectations of safety do not apply.
