I actually haven't watched the show since the election. The optimism and joy of the show seems inappropriate to indulge in when juxtaposed to this dark alternate timeline we live in now. I can't bring myself to watch MLP when we've entered into this period that feels like a combination of The Man in the High Castle mixed with the alternate 1985 from BttF 2.

It's a shame that the show has fallen a ways since the majority of the people working on it have gone off to bigger and (not necessarily better) things, although I have been on the ride since 2011 and this particular fandom has been quite an interesting one and I plan on staying on until the end. To each their own, but I do feel as if the downfall of the MLP fanbase as of now is people who stick around for content (or perhaps) benefit them and give no shits about the other involved. It's truly the definition of a cancer, and before we know the situation will evolve into scenario where many will be mostly fans of the fandom and the values and characteristics of not only the show but the very thing that made up "bronies" will eventually be lost.

And this is a very scary thought.
