It's really getting ridiculous at this point. I'd say the only remotely even-handed depictions we've had of other races are Zecora and the Buffalo... both of whom had their screen time in S1. After that, the writers apparently gave up on the larger world making sense and just wanted their uberequines running around 'uplifting' all those filthy non-ponies.
