Eh, to be fair EqG doesn't have anything set in stone. The world isn't defined nor are the people. We literally know nothing.

The only real substance we have come from outside sources like the people working on the show.

Like Ishi Rudell saying EqG world isn't earth on Twitter. The president of Hasbro Studios saying the EG world is somewhat human. The lead designer of the show and the designer of the EqG characters straight up saying they aren't human instead referring to them as otherworldly and magical and saying they're in-between.

So I don't think it's all that far-fetched since we have little to nothing in the movies. T b h I find it more refreshing than just the usual labelling of their world as ours or they being us, I think people could get creative.
