Oh yeah. I relate to and admire Apple Bloom. The desperate search for self and finding her place, the anxiety and nightmares over loved ones leaving or disliking her, the way she gets really sad sometimes when things go wrong. I admire the way that even when she does get sad or scared, she always comes through and is truly brave, and I like how she easily understands others and is thoughtful enough to come up with solutions and always figure things out, and have joy in helping others. I'd like to be more like her, strong and friendly. I don't think I'd have liked her nearly as much as I do if not for season 5.

Ever since I saw a picture and quick description of her back in 2012, Derpy was always my favorite. I think the reason I like her so much is because I see her as an idealized version of myself. A screwup and fool with a chipper and self-motivated personality. She messes up through her seemingly inherent clutch behavior but makes up for it in her kind and caring demeanor.

The main difference here is that I don't allow myself a redeeming quality and I'm horrifyingly stressed perpetually because I can't seem to please people in my home life. I have little self-worth because of it, despite recognizing it's the one I love with is emotionally manipulative. It's made being self-motivated all. It's pointless in the face of fearing that every choice I'll always make will be wrong.
