Once again, nostalgia fags cannot provide any specific evidence that the show after season 1 is worse beyond their own bitter memories.

They can't provide it because there is none. There is none because nothing in season 1 was that memorable or special. It was a comfy season filled with mostly mediocre, uncontroversial storylines that only exist to fill in the one dimensional character archetypes introduced in the first episode. Yes, there were a few gems, but people only remember season 1 fondly because it subverted their expectations that a My Little Pony show would suck. Every season after has had increasingly high expectations that have outpaced the improvements in quality.

The biggest increases in quality have come from the songs and the animation. I can't be the only one who thought that Pinkie's off-the-cuff songs in season 1 were stupid while providing nothing to any of the stories. Every season afterwards dropped that and only focused on high quality songs as opposed to trash like the CMC theme that was bad on purpose.

As for animation, it's obvious that the new seasons are richer and more detailed visually. Season 1 animation is bare bones and conservative in comparison because they were making all that stuff for the first time and it was too much effort to do more than the minimum. The animators now have a cache of animations built up over the years and can afford the time to focus on the finer details.

Nigga please. Nothing in the later seasons has topped Winter Wrap Up, Art of the Dress, and At the Gala.

FIMs music had jumped the shark in season 4, where every song was complete shit. The songs are so uninspired now.
