"I hope you are not implying what I think you are implying by that." Nero says to Twilight when she derides Sombra.

"Hold off on summoning Caduceus." Nero says raising a hoof.

"It is as I suspected then. You really are completely clueless. You don't even know that it is your brother who caused this Sunfall, and his Order that created this wasteland!"

"You contend for the scraps of Equestria while your inheritance* lies in ruin!"

The king says in a mocking voice.

Last time on Timequest, Honey and Luke had found the Goudeau Army's Research and Development wing, and with a full riot behind them, engaged its defenders with the usual brutality. Though the soldiers were defeated, three odd creatures were released from the nearby tubes, baring similarities to the Eon Beetle fought in Pre-Hearth

Nero met with Goudeau himself as his parlay paused (most) hostilities between their factions, and was disappointed with whom the false god turned out to be. They engaged in a heavy dialogue, when he revealed that Cad was being protected in the base and that Claw was Goudeau's brother.

Southern Point managed to convince the guard, Captain Plasm, to take her along for a tour of his duties as he's called into investigate the mysterious intruders that came before her, taking her down into a gaping, burning hole into Level 2 as he explains some of the city's customs and characters.

Onyxia, after conversing with the mysterious voice on the radio, was given a way out of Level 2 safely while leaving Beta, the goo technician, behind. Crawling up the waste ducts, she found herself in an enclosed building on Level 1 and after disabling a couple more guards, re-connected with Mr. Radio.

The blind prophet Holy Luke manages to arrise from helpless (5/4), and Jean delivers a crushing slash to the Eont Luke attacks, but as it does a few bolts shoot out from the Eont's forward-most limbs and fire into Luke and Jean both, sending Jean crashing backwards to 0/1 against the wall and a hard shot to Luke's gut leaving him at 3/5. The controlled compatriot manages to savagely attack both of its brothers however.

Meanwhile, Honey Bunch's flame breath sprays onto both active Eonts, severely burning them both as you see their crystalline forms begin to break down, energy cutting off at some points with the burning attack. However, they both survive to deliver an attack to the group

The other guards that are questioning the technician are hastily pulled aside, not recognizing you outside of armor. "Who's she? Does she have clearance..."

"She's fine, soldier, and she's got a point." Plasm adds, sighing, "From what I hear she's been heavily traumatized: the room wasn't empty when Jazz went nuts in it. She might need some time on top of seeing that AND being taken against her will. We have her house number, we'll find her later when she's ready to talk." Plasm sighs as he points the guards to investigate another area, "Without her though, we're a little dry on leads. ANY evidence that would have been in the rocket control room would have been wiped off the face of the Dome with the blast that happened, and they didn't leave a lot of evidence other than having messed with the elevators. Didn't show up on cameras for the most part, but we're still looking through that."

"Uh... that's just what we've always called it. What do you call it?"
"The Shadowscape." Steel answers.
"Huh. I don't know, I kind of like ours better. Not important anyhow. To clarify on what you heard: yes, that is what's commonly said of Sanctuary, but I assure you it's exaggerated. Propaganda. Think of us like the heroic rebels in this scenario. Exposing those lies will be part of what I will ask you to do."

"Swing City is probably bigger than almost any settlement you've seen out in the Shade but it's still not HUGE. It's located on the southern sector, if you find your way to a map it's listed on it. You should see a sign for it in bright red neon. But you should try to stay low: either get a disguise or hide yourself well. They have your images, they'll be looking for you. Once you get in there, you're looking for a mutant with iron-skin. Kind of a dead-give away who it should be."

Twilight closes up her wings as you say that, providing a sheepish grin, "Just an observation, I swear! Nothing personal meant by it towards anypony..."

The magician snorts as you insist on him holding off, but as you mock Goudeau openly, the griffon warrior raises a bushy eyebrow in confusion, one of his talons reaching up to scratch underneath his chin, "What...? Eo-naxx Claw is the cause of the Sunfall? Hahahahahah!" He lets out a short roar of laughter, "Now it seems it is Goudeau's turn to laugh. Claw and Goudeau were born on the same day, from the same egg, thrust into the very hell that is the Shade over half a century ago. He supposes there is a reason you brought up time-travel, but while Claw is a resourceful worm, to go back in time goes beyond even his capabilities."

He swipes a talon through the air, "The true birthright of Goudeau might lay beyond his talons, but his legacy can and WILL be reforged greater than before in what remains. He was hoping the two of you would share in the glory of such an empire."
>>
>>28811183
"Doesn't matter either way to me, once these quake are dealt with I don't care what any of you do after."
Onyxia scoffs at the explanation to the things she heard.
"We can talk more on what you want once I get there. Might as well move if they got our images."

Onyxia turns to get going, but stops, looking to the trapped guards. She gives the metal pods a kick, a quick flash of crystal surging over them as she pops some air holes into the top of the prisons. Now they can breathe but still not be an issue.

With that dealt with, Onyxia heads out of the room and down the halls in what she believes to be south, keeping an eye out for maps.
"Once we find a map, we'll continue back in the shadows. don't know how they got in there too, but it can't be as good as ours if it took them this long."
She says to Steel as they travel.

"You're an imbecile. If time travel is not possible, how do you suppose that Twilight and I arrived here? Are you truly so dense as to believe we were simply hiding under a stone for the last 300 years?"

The king says, holding up a hoof as a portal opens above it, dropping out the photos from Freedom's cell again, with the ones featuring snow, and the Order's symbol on top. He hands them forward to Goudeau.

"Those were taken in the Earth Republic. Your brother is part of an organization that caused the Sunfall. Twilight and Myself are here for no other reason then to kill him for doing so."

You transmute the material to allow for breathable holes, Steel following closely behind after the radio is shut off. "It's a shame you cannot shapeshift like your father. That would be helpful in this scenario.

You quickly find an exit to the recycling center after leaving the guards screaming, and you see outside to the bustling, neon-lit mall that you saw before, mutants already visible up and down the streets as they go about on daily lives. You see a map not far at all, only just on the corner, that you can use to find Dr. Iron's office successfully. As you do, you spot up the street a gaping fiery hole being investigated heavily by the guard: likely where Jazz was attempting to make her escape.

>>28811268
Plasm looks to one of the other guards, before he replies, "A lot of us saw them when they first broke in, but then they disappeared into nothing right in front of us. From then on, the only other witness we have who wasn't turned to melted slag was Jazz, if he's even still alive, and Geigaro, who says he can't find out where they went after that."

The captain turns and points at a large, black eye affixed to the corner of the wall, "That's the same Geigaro who does the radio, yes, before you ask: he runs surveillance throughout the whole Dome in addition to that. He put out images of them that he caught when they first broke in but he says they've avoided all other feed he has somehow. We did get one other clue from Jazz before he went berserk that..." he pauses, "I'm sorry: what he told us they were using is sort of classified. I can't tell anyone who doesn't usually work here on Level 2."

Goudeau growls. "The insults are beginning to wear thin, Emperor." he looks between you and Twilight, "Goudeau specified it was outside CLAW'S ability, not the gods. He thought you suffered Cad's fate, and were somehow forced to the present. The books Goudeau has collected say the two of you disappeared entirely at the turn of the millennium, shortly after one's ascension and the other's return."

As you bring up the pictures, he eyes over them carefully, his glowing eyes staying wide the entire time as he analyzes them and the symbol Freedom's cell shows. "These... are authentic. Goudeau can feel it." He peers through them a second time, "His brother is the reason the world is like this...?"

He drops the photos to the floor, talons gripping and un-gripping in anger as he looks between them. "This... CLAW has had more profound effect on the world than Goudeau has yet?! He dwells in his Station, playing with toys. Goudeau's Army has been growing across the Shade!"

As Honey Bunch fires at one of the Eonts from the safety of her cockpit, a stray shot from the Eont smashes into Crumple's visor, a large explosion (for her) knocking back Honey to 3/3.

Holy Luke strikes against both of the Eonts and knocks them down, where Crumple's unibeam delivers a killing blow to the head of one, causing it to sputter in green sparks before all of the energy connecting its joints shut off entirely, leaving it a pile of 8 greenish stones. The controlled Eont does the same to the other target, smashing it. However, as they go down, the blaster bolt that struck Crumple's head dealt critical damage to its systems, sending it down to its side helpless (0/5 for Crumple).

Meanwhile, Luke manages to successfully heal Jean's wounds with his mead, healing her to 5/2, but as he does the last remaining Eont, his, suddenly shakes its head, and turns its head towards its former master.

Nero says, walking casually behind Goudeau.

"Goudeau's Army is nothing but termites feasting on a ruin. If you desire to prove your divinity, and obtain true power, go and obtain vengeance. Kill your brother for stealing your country from you. Make him pay in blood for what he has done."

She says with a gesture to her cloth body.

Looking over the map, and peeking out to the swarm of guards, Onyxia pauses in how they'll get by without being spotted. Their fight area is likely to have guards in the shadowscape if they'd be anywhere. She then looks up, getting an idea.
"How good are you at jumping?"
She whispers to Steel as she plants her hooves on the ground. Crystal grows along the wall of the nearest building to give a set of holds for them to climb up to the top of the roof with.

One of the armored guards, his face covered, gives a chuckle, "Heh, you know THAT doesn't sound like such a bad idea..."

Plasm reaches up and knocks him on the back of the neck, "We have a dozen dead scientists, guards, and maybe even commander. We're not calling it until we have more to go off of than a single shaken witness." He looks at you again, "We've got a good crowd on each floor, so we're sure to find those pricks eventually. I really do have to focus on my task down here..." he shakes his head, "I really shouldn't be eating dinner at a time like this. I can escort you to a restaurant since I understand if you're a bit hazy being outside of the Dome, but I don't know I can afford to stay there once I show you. Might get yelled at. What are you feeling like, the Saucer, Synthghetti's?"

He looks to the shocked scientist, "Hmm. Maybe I should bring her back something too. She hasn't had anything to eat yet."

>>28811613
"We will have to make due, I suppose. Though, I did have one possible idea: if you altered my form, and 'wore' me, I doubt we'd be recognizable. A sort of, manual shapeshift of sorts."

As you and him peek out at the swarm of guards following looking at the map, Steel answers back: "With my weight, not well, though if you mean long-jumps I can clear a good distance. Why?" He sees as you plant your hooves into the nearest building, creating a set of holds to climb up to as he looks up at the top, "Ah. I think I see." He moves for the holds, moving up with you as you ascend the building.

At the top, you find it vacant (though this particular one has a stair-well opening on it), and you get a very good view of the rest of the small city from here: there's five large elevators you see stretching all the way to the top at the four cardinal directions as well as the center, and if you look past the hole and the guards below, you believe you can see the red-neon of an 'Ironclad Care' sign.

"Time machines...? Claw and you.. can freely flow through time? On a whim?" He growls, turning to Cold Iron. "You said it was impossible."
The scrawny unicorn turns in surprise, "I-It is! Even my power can not control the flow of time!"

He turns back, clicking his beak as he walks away from Nero, "Humiliating... absolutely humiliating. Goudeau is the god, not him, is this not true?" He shakes his head, "And a monster that stands even above the gods? One that might prove a true test of Goudeau's might? Claw mentioned NOTHING of this!" He digs his talons into the metal wall of the Administration room, clawing them down without much effort and leaving a gash in it.

"He would make Claw suffer for this and every other indignation. Goudeau has thought about it, almost every day of his divine life. He considers this the ultimate reason to see his fratricide a reality. Goudeau's Army would storm his pathetic Station and rend him asunder..." he says with a clawed fist of his talon and spreading of his wings, before his wings close and he glares at Nero. "But... there is a complication. Goudeau cannot attack his brother. Not yet, at least."

Crumple manages to stand back up successfully (7/5), and Honey ditches her cockpit successfully to gather up the dis-functioning stones on the ground. The howitzer opens up and hits the remaining Eont with a solid blow, but it turns and fires one shot out of its rear-right leg directly into Crumple's chest, causing a loud blast that sends it back down to 1/5.

Luke, meanwhile, is hit hard by the Eont's attack, going down to 0/4 from the powerful blow of its head, but not before hitting it in the head back with a crack of the bat. Goudeau reaches up, running his talon through the feathers on his head. "Before the mission to the Blaster's base was accepted, Goudeau previously had nothing to do with Claw and his mutated ilk. Our history is a sorted one, and though he would stay in contact, Goudeau originally swore to never associate with him in any fashion." He cracks his neck, "However, last week, he offered Goudeau something that made him reconsider this offer. Proof of concept that he had uncovered something Goudeau himself has sought for decades with no success. Something Goudeau NEEDS to cement his dominion over the Shade once and for all."

Twilight raises an eyebrow, "And that'd be..?"

Goudeau grins widely, "Immortality. TRUE immortality. The inability to die not only from old age, as Goudeau's studies show you two already possess, but the inability to die from anything under the Moon. Fire, bullet, sword, magic, all of it worthless."

Steel nods his head readily, "Yes, presuming you can change me to how I was. I rather grew attached to this form, but I would not mind being used as armor should. Seems fitting enough."

As you reach up over the top of the building, you and Steel successfully use the rooftops to hide yourselves from the guard below, passing over the tops of buildings tightly packed together like apartments as you manage to by-pass the burning hole and the guard below, going more than half-way to the clinic before you reach a gap that would require a bit of jumping on either of your parts, though it's the only one you'd need to clear before reaching the clinic.

Plasm goes for the elevator, leading you along as the witness takes more time to collect herself and the guards continue their search throughout the floor. "Your help is appreciated, never the less. I'm sure there must be some evidence left behind, no escape route is perfect. At the least, your wires would be helpful into cutting them down to size." He calls for the elevator, but as you and him pass it you see a few glowing green ant-like creatures passing through that remind you distinctly of that green beetle you fought in the Pre-Hearth era.

The elevator comes down, and after bringing you and Plasm up he escorts you down past the burning hole again, leading on towards a building that has a saucer-shaped top to it like a pie-tin. "This is the Saucer: mostly serves veggie pies synthetically grown. The sauce they fill the pies with is especially tasty." The restaurant is set up like a 50's diner with a bar in the middle with stools to sit on, about half-way filled with other mutants eating their meals, and he passes over a menu of variously themed veggie dishes to pick from, and as he does his radio pings him again, "Sorry, lemme just take this real quick." He steps to the side and listens to them for a minute, muttering under his breath,

She says, looking back to Steel as she readies into a running stance.

She sprints forward, leaping off the edge towards one of the fliers.
"Look out, just passing through!"
She says as she nears, using them as a stepping stone to get across with little annoyance to them given her cloth form.

"You waste your time. No creature is invincible." Nero says decisively, before turning to Cold Iron and pointing.

"You. Go and bring Caduceus here." then back to Goudeau.

"I have already declared My intentions. I am here to kill Eo Naxx Claw, and to that end I am already gathering an army. If you intend your revenge, you should join Me, and in return I will offer you something much more valuable then whatever defensive enchantments or regenerative elixirs your brother is preparing. You repair Crumple up to 7/6 using your mechanical skills, and hover around the lab looking for goodies. The guards had some strong looking body armor on them along with their lasers, and you see on the far wall a few more under-construction that aren't yet finished. Nothing entirely ground-breaking yet for a R & D wing until you find a miniature hover-tank model, and of course, the information on the pods.

>A nearby computer, the same GG symbol you saw before on the transporter under the junkyard, gives more detailed information
>Subject: 3 'Eo-Rok's, donated by the Station
>A constellation prize for our job on the Blaster base along with the 'Eo-Jaga' creature we have patrolling outside.
>Apparently Claw made these things as shock-troopers: disposable soldiers to be used in masse. Three won't do our patrols much differently but Goudeau has tasked us with finding out their chemistry so we can make more of them. If Claw has a means to make so many of them, it couldn't possibly be that hard.

Steel grumbles, "Hrrmph... as long as it isn't obviously female I don't think I'll mind whatever you choose."

Looking down across the gap underneath, you work up the courage to make the jump as the mutants fly by, one with reptilian features/dragon-like wings and the other with more dragon-fly styled ones. As you jump on their backs, they cry out 'Ooof's and look to you as you clear the gap, "HEY! What the hell do we look like to you?! Get back he..."

They're stopped as Steel goes flying past them in a strong, long-running leap, landing across the way with you on the other roof-top as they continue to stare at you. "You're not allowed to run on roof-tops you know!" They shout after him as he joins you. The clinic is now accessible from running on the roof-tops alone.

As you imply their first outing so far is a date, Plasm's cheeks flush red and his gooey hair turns from its usual red glow to a more maroon color. "V-very funny, miss. You should go into comedy..." he clears his throat, "Ahem, one more moment," he's seen speaking into the radio again for another moment, this time more hushed, before he puts it away and takes up a seat next to you.

"My apologies. I was just checking to see if you were among our list of disappearances so far or if you were one we missed and no one reported. You've been cleared by the system, my contact says your apartment should be left untouched from when you left it." He grabs at the list on the menu, looking to a very vibrant pony glowing harshly over the counter, "Two cherry jubilees, please." He orders for you, the glowing pony going around the counter to fetch them up. "Glad to see one of you finally came back. Gives me just a sliver of hope for the rest of them I didn't have before. Should boost morale around here a bit despite the break in, the launch cancel, and... everything."

>Jean is healed yet again to 5/3, purifying all damage to her body through the healing properties of your booze.

As Honey pokes around at the tech and computers, you pilfer through the dead scientists pockets and find several more vital looking components but nothing that appears to be valued as money. Goudeau shakes his head, "It is no mere trinket: Goudeau saw it with my own eyes. He is not certain how it was done but he saw Claw himself overcome death itself. Such a wonder would truly cement his place as Lord of all the Shade. And it's within my grasp."

Cold Iron sticks up his nose to your orders, but Goudeau growls, "Go, do it. Let a council of all the known gods commence." He turns to you, "Goudeau seeks Claw's demise for this treachery, but his gift of immortality I cannot simply overlook." As you offer to take him back into the past, he rubs at his chin, "Passage to the past? To truly see his treasured paintings in person? A world beyond this decaying scrap of dirt...? Admittedly, that is a tempting trade."

He looks up to the cieling as he ponders, Cold Iron retreating up the elevator, "To which timeline would you take him? Yours, to a hundred years before Equestria's founding? To the year of Princess Twilight's ascension? The year his ancestor Garfield attempted to lay claim to what was rightfully his?"

Landing on the other side, Onyxia breathes deeply from the rush, not paying much mind to the mutant's complaints. Looking up as Steel soars over head, she looks back to them as their shouts break through.
"We aren't running, we're jumping!"
She shouts in counter, sprinting off to join Steel and run the rest of the length to the clinic.

She pauses a moment to catch her breath once they stand on top of the Ironclad Care.
"Phew... I didn't think we'd get here that easily... Now just to find that iron mutant..."
She says between breaths. Spotting stairs on this building, she sighs in relief that they can just walk down. She leads the way down and to the front door, stepping in and scanning the room for the iron skinned mutant the radio voice told them of.

"My ownership of the Ur-Lucius begs to differ. To your request, I'll make it simple. I am preparing to attack Eo Naxx Claw, and am unwilling to wait for him to turn over whatever device he is working on. So you can stand aside, and hope by some miracle he manages to kill Me. Or you can accept my generous offer to the lowliest of the griffon kings."

After shrinking one of the guard's laser weapons to her size, Honey flies up to the miniature tank model, smirking as she looks it over.
"Yes, Ia like this feeling," she says, leaning against something that would normally tower above her immensely.
"Yeaha, you're coming as wella."

As Honey loads the model into Crumple, she has Crumple go to one of the cocoons and free it (as in unibeam cut and rip and tear free) enough for Honey to shrink down and take with her. She may not know what it does, but she's pretty sure it might do something neat.

Plasm groans, "We've got lots of guys on all levels already trying to figure this out, a captain can afford to take 15 minutes to get his energy up." The pies are delivered out shortly after he ordered them, sliding along the counter with a light red tinge to the cherries within that Plasm doesn't seem to mind as he grabs at a fork.

"How long ago did you say you disappear again? However long it was, in case your memory is still foggy, the rocket launches have been occurring more and more often. Do them almost daily now, sometimes even twice. From what I hear from the wing, they're getting closer and closer to their target each time but, today we had various intrusions." He nods his head back towards where the circle was, "You remember that completely slagged room? THAT was mission control. It and every scientist managing it is gone. But, progress marches on: Master has other means of getting the launches to work, and things get fixed pretty quickly around here. Our next launch might not even be a week out."

>>28812431
"I think there isn't enough difference there, you bounce on our backs again and we're telling the guards!"

As you and Steel run along the remainder of the roofs to the clinic, he looks down at the red-neon lights of the building, "We shouldn't count ourselves lucky yet. The radio mentioned before they had put out descriptions. If they recognize us, there could be trouble. Let's head inside, quick." Steel recommends as you lead the way into the building.

Once in, you hear some music going over another radio on the bottom, the 2nd floor seeming to contain a couple of bed-rooms and a living room, and the 1st floor more dedicated to the clinic. It seems well maintained, and you spot a iron-skinned mutant behind a service desk on the bottom floor, leaning back in a heavily reinforced chair looking over a couple of charts on an electronic data pad. He turns up to you, "Huh? What in the Sun? I didn't see you come through the main entrance..."

The vital components Luke looks through are a mix-match of wires, casings, and electrical pieces that you probably definitely don't want to get any alcohol on, but otherwise are completely foreign to you as the prisoners begin to wander into the R & D wing along side Luke.

Honey, meanwhile, shrinks down all of the goodies she sees among the R&D (the laser gun, the tank model, one of the cocoons inside the pod), storing them in the storage area before blasting off towards more areas of the facility for areas that haven't been cleared. You pass through the Armory, seeing a collection of all the Blasters fortifying themselves within there, and as you screech by to the Vehicular Bay you see a the largest chamber yet. It stretches across hundreds of feet and goes up 5 stories high, along its sides you can see more tunnels and perched besides them (8) hover tanks similar to the one you saw patrolling outside. One such is prepped right outside the entrance to the Vehicle Bay as you're lead down.

>also across the Vehicle Bay, you see a 5 storied building up ahead as part of the far wall, and various windows line each floor save for the top, which has only one, large, white circular window that's too thick to see through. Also on the sides of the Vehicle Bay you note larger waterfalls, pouring into the cavern.

Goudeau grinds his beak at the 'lowliest of griffon kings' line, approaching Nero quickly, "Goudeau would warn you one last time that he does not appreciate the insults." He takes a quick breath, seeming to calm himself down, "Hrrrrm... immortality would ensure Goudeau's reign will last eternity... but there is a chance the Shade does not even HAVE centuries." He nods his head, "Whereas the past would grant him endless possibilities... but he would not live to see them all come to fruition..." he cracks his neck again, "Where is your method of time-travel? Goudeau would see it in action as he's been given witness to Claw's invention before he committed to the invasion. If it assuredly works... then you will have Goudeau's assistance in your invasion. There is every chance Claw's method is complete and he merely withholds it from Goudeau anyhow.""

As he thinks on his answer, the elevator rings down again, and Cold Iron steps out with a familiar, purple-cloaked pony behind him. You can hear Bulldozer's nostrils flare with agitation at the very sight of him, and the god looks from under his hood. "You've arrived. I see the Order continues to underestimate you, Nero," he turns to look up at Bulldozer, eyes glaring, "Bulldozer. You're looking well."

"You're damn lucky I have a new contract or your limbs would be on opposite sides of the room." He curtly responds.

Onyxia steps forward slowly once they enter the clinic. Her eyes flow over the room as she looks around, nearly the first normal looking place she's seen in this dome. Her gazing refocuses as the mutant calls them out.
"Oh, we thought this *was* the main entrance."
She says, trying to sound like a normal passerby. Ears perking up to the radio playing upstairs, she steps to the counter.
"I see you like music. What's your favorite song on that radio?"
She asks the iron mutant.
