Wondering why people aren't using CNC embroidery and CNC cutting machines to do eyes and cutie marks that look pro level considering they're finally relatively affordable $300-400 most having lifetime warranties

I think I can answer your question. For the most part, it's cost. You're grossly mistaken when it comes to embrodiery. I own one of the higher end home machines (a large embroidery area) and mine was $4000. You combine that with $300 software for digitizing, and probably $200 per month in embrodiery related costs (stabilizer, threads, maintainence for a unit in near daily use) and it's really pricey. CNC doesn't work well in embroidery because it leaves you with very little control over thing she like stitch density, direction, and compensation all of which are incredibly important to achieve professional looking results. There's a software out there that works off the CNC concept, but it's really a pain to work with for those listed reasons.

As far as cutting machines go, you CAN find them in the $200-$300 range, but they don't work well with minky, every plushmaker's go-to fabric. It's too thick. Cutting machines in that range are more for paper crafting. The best it can handle is cotton or a very thin fleece. That's coming from experience. Besides that, they only have a limited size they can cut out, so someone would be lucky to be able to fit a 12" standing plush's pattern pieces on it simply due to the dimensions of the pieces of the pattern. Laser cutters, on the other hand, are really effective against minky and have a large field. Unfortunately you're getting back into the thousands of dollar range most plush makers don't want to invest in--especially when, for most artists, their pattern is ever changing.
