This is literally the most awful excuse I hear from people on a number of subjects because it has been proven wrong again and again.

Real talk here tho. I personally know someone who was a sadist and said he would use this excuse to simply hide the reallity that he was this way due to events in his childhood.

Anyway so one day he met the "girl of his dreams" got married had a kid etc.. But he knew she would never tolerate such a thing so he had to turn to prostitution and affairs to satisfy his urges. One day it hit him just how fucked he was and started having thoughts of murdering his only kid just so they wouldnt end up like him. So he had a complete mental breakdown and his wife found out. So now kutos to her she stayed with him as long as possible but eventually seperated for fear of her and their kids life.
He lost everything except his job because he wasnt willing to face his own inner demons and get help before it was too late.
The good news is that he got the counceling and help he needed and was able to end his urges.
so yes you can change and get help you aren't stuck one way or another. It just takes alot of courage.
