She's super nice, too. I guess the reason I like her over any other Rarijack stuff is although she's obsessed with the pairing, not every one of her pictures is them being romantic, most are just really cute.

But honestly I'm more salty when it comes to Rarity/Applejack in the show and comics. Way too overdone, when others, like Rarishy and Raridash are underdeveloped, with RariTwi having literally nothing. Raripie for whatever reason went from barely anything to overload this season.

She has 3 really great episodes after that, one in S4 (Rarity Takes Manehattan) and two in S5. (Canterlot Boutique and Rarity Investigates). RTM and CB have good songs too. The rest of the episodes woth her are good, (Save Made in Manehattan, just find that dull) which is better than what can be said than the other Mane 6 ponies.

The Rarity circlejerk declared that S6 was okay, in quality around the S4. Some really good episodes, some shit episodes. Also Glimmer a shit but her episodes are okay thanks to the supporting characters.

Personally I feel it's the worst season yet. Worse than S3, with at best it was okay, but at worst it was really bad. Glimmer was horrible, and she only got her ass saved by Trixie, ELTSD is one of the worst episodes.

Rarity saved parts of the season, but if only she got her own episode. Personally I thought Saddle Row was good, but it wasn't fantastic, but it was unfortunately the best of the season. PPOV was also decent.

Also Spice Up Your Life has the biggest waste of Rarity's singing VA, that was such a bad song.

On the other hand, Rarity definitely didn't get the worst end of the stick this season, Rainbow Dash and Applejack both got treated far worse this season, Rarity was at least still good for the most part.

I still wouldn't put it at S3-tier, that season had literally zero good episodes.
S6 at least has No Second Prances which was a good Trixepisode, the Christmas Carol was a cool musical episode, Saddle Row Review was genuinely entertaining to me, Buckball Season was a fine SoL episode, the Gabi episode is currently my favorite CMC episode and the finale was well done, especially the first part was great.
Then again there are episodes which are almost offensively bad to me, like Applejack's Day Off, Social Experiment (IN THE HOOD) (GONE WRONG), the Changeling ep, and plenty of just boring episodes.
It's really a hit or miss season. Luckily Rarity was treated well unlike some other characters, I completely agree with you on that.

The reason I say it was S3 tier is because although there really wasn't any horrid episode. I mean, at worst there was Spike at your Service, but honestly I feel Applejack's Day Off and The Cart Before the Ponies were far worse. Not having Glimmer also gets bonus points for S3. S6 I felt didn't really have much notable about it, and when it didn't do good, it failed hard. The finale is another thing that I'm knocking off a lot of points for, MMC was genuinely a better season finale. You're right, the first part was good, but the second part practically raped the damn thing. And honestly, I remember the plot of the S3 premier with slightly more detail than whatever the hell happened this season's premier.

So honestly on a good day I'd rank it at S3 tier, if I'm in a bad mood I'll rank it less. Now while I'm in the camp that the show needs to end already, I'm not just saying everything new is shit. There were a lot of good moments in S5. I loved Canterlot Boutique and Rarity Investigates. But I feel S6 shows that the show would be better off ending with the movie. Perhaps it's Haber's fault? I hope the rumor that he's gone is true, maybe S7 will improve for me.

Though if there was a plus for me, her outfits were still all great, and like I mentioned, she still has gotten better treatment than most characters this season. And at least she was a redeeming factor in episodes she appeared in.

Well, I feel like I have a bit more enthusiasm for the show as of now, but I see where you're coming from. I can't say I know enough about the show writing process and staff over at Hasbro to make a solid judgment, but there has definitely been a change in the show's writing and it shows. I rather rewatch the whole season 1 for the hundredth time rather than diving into S6 a second time.

Well in terms of Hasbro and the writers, I actually have a theory which I think is pretty plausible. If you ask me, I think Hasbro is almost ignoring the show, to put 110% of their focus in MLP on the movie. As a result, it means they mandate things in the show less, and therefore writers like Haber do whatever they want, like how they're just making everything revolve around Glimmer now. Which everyone should think of as odd, considering Hasbro doesn't seem to give two shits about her.

And actually, it's like the finale goes against their marketing plans. Redeeming the changelings when they clearly just started to release a line where the ponies fight the changelings? Doesn't that seem odd?

Anyway, back about the movie, considering the last film they worked on with Allspark Pictures, Jem, bombed horribly, they really need to work hard on MLP's movie to make that a success if they want to keep Allspark Pictures going. Not to mention this would be a game changer for the brand, as they're trying to market the brand as more gender neutral, and not "girls and tea parties". So it seems like they're just focusing all on the movie, and kind of letting the series do whatever until they're ready to shift their attention back to it. But the downside means that lets Haber do whatever he wants.

I would love to know how much of a tight grip Hasbro had on the show throughout the years. The most recent intervention we know of is iirc Slice of Life, which Larson himself said he was instructed to cram with memes. We expected some Guardians of Harmony tie-in in S6 and we got fuck all, no mention of it and instead changelings got reformed, so who knows. Maybe you're right and they just let it be, focusing all their resources on the movie.
Then again it's hard to believe and also a bit worrying that the nu-changelings were an idea of someone actually working on the show and not some deranged Hasbro official, if that is true.

You know, if what I've taken from artists at conventions, Hasbro might actually have less of a grip on the series than you'd think. Price did complain about them saying they were over his shoulder, but honestly I think he's a little salty that his first Rarity Micro idea with Cook got rejected because of Rarity Takes Manehattan. Not to mention, Price has drawn porn.

But according to other artists (both in MLP and Transformers) Hasbro seems to be for the most part hands off, unless there is something specific they want, like related to toys or something. And it seems pretty accurate, considering it looks like the only Hasbro interventions this season are the baby and the Swan boat.

I don't think it was a Hasbro official's idea at all, that's the sad part. I think it actually was Haber's doing, just like Starlight. Because Starlight just comes off as a normal villain in Cutie Map, it was in the S5 finale she got the crazy power boost and redemption. And remember, this is the same Haber who said something like he just "Didn't have the time" to read about past stuff in the show in a tweet, in regards to the alicorn lore thing. If you want a source for that, I can try to find it, I just saw it the other day in a different thread. That's pretty sad, honestly.

That's wrong, though. While S1 is stronger on average as a season, it's generally stuff like The Return of Harmony and Lesson Zero that ranks highest.

I think you're the one who is wrong. Yes, Return of Harmony is ranked highest. But did you even look at the link? At best you can say they're on par with each other. Return of Harmony is ranked highest, but Best Night Ever is ranked above Lesson Zero. It's more as if they alternate. And if you look at "Rankings over time" more S1 episodes actually went up in rank compared to S2 episodes. And there are 8 S1 episodes and 6 S2 episodes (8 if you count the second parts of the premiers and finales, but I'd consider them one episodes). So, at the absolute best, you can say S1 and S2 are the same, but you can't say people remember those episodes more. That's just saying what you want to believe.

And don't blame it on nostalgiafags.
