From someone who's seen Glimmer for what she is, she's just a kid who looks like a mare, and considering how much she's screwed up time to where there was one point where EVERYTHING was a desolate apocalyptic wasteland, it's safe to say she didn't care what happened.

Honestly, I liked her better as a villain. I'm sick of these "villain redeemed to hero" scenarios, like they were animals that were rabies-infected and savage monsters.

They should have jailed her, or better, killed her. I know there's nothing graphic in MLP, but it's like it's telling us that "everyone can change with some effort", like they're just stepping stones for the heroes to use. What's the point of them existing after they're not villains anymore?

Discord and Luna, I'm fine. The rest? They should literally die. They need swift punishment, and their rights striped from them. They deserve to be beaten down like wild animals and treated like trash, because that's all they're worth. But not Diamond Tiara, though. She's good.

TL;DR: Starlight Glimmer doesn't deserve the redemption she got, and instead of coming into terms of what she did, the mane 6 should have done away with her.

The fact is, I think an actually well-written, extended reformation arc would've been a beautiful thing to see. I think a pony who could've challenged our Element of Magic on her home field could have worked as well. I think a pony who genuinely believed in freeing ponies from (in her eyes) the shackles of a single talent would have been a very interesting story - especially after Gabby seemed to show you don't need a cutie mark in something to be good at it.

But at every turn they seemed to only dig Glimmer's hole deeper. That's what irks me.

Yeah, and that's what bugs me. I'd have absolutely love to see a Starlight Glimmer who genuinely believed she was doing right - that her ultimate end-goal of equalizing ponies would build a better society for everyone involved. Especially if - after seeing the wasteland - she came to understand that the way she was going about it was wrong, but didn't so utterly abandon her core beliefs. It'd have been very good to see a character opposed to the M6, yet who wasn't so obviously evil.

Which brings me to that bit of the finale. What frustrated me about that, is that nothing about the wasteland she was shown inherently implied her beliefs were destructive. It certainly implied that it's a bad idea to suddenly pull the rug out from under the ponies who'd be handling artifacts critical to Equestria's defense - but not that there wasn't a right time and place for her tenets.

Yet, Glimmer just chucks away her long-held beliefs and goals to fall into lock-step behind Twilight, effectively giving up what differentiated her as a character.

I started this season off worried mostly about Flurry Heart.

Flurry Heart for all her trouble was somewhat decent.

Starlight Glimmer is the mary sue of this season. I want her removed. I'll compromise with keeping Flurry.

I remember many people were worried about McFlurry ruining everything, everyone hated her (pic related). But she wasn't really that bad, everything about her can be easily ignored. On the other hand, fucking Starlight Glimmer feels completely shoehorned, she went from an interesting character to complete shit. It's tragic that the toy insert by Hasbro turned out less harmful for the show that a character actually created by the show staff.

I honestly believe Haber just doesn't think about how episodes work in relation to each other. Everything is a standalone plot, and if they happen to sync up - well, that's convenient. If not - hey, just invent something new!

I mean, look at the S5 and S6 finales.

The entire episode really felt like it was more about the flashy visuals versus the actual story. The dialogue was really cringy at times and didn't really sell anyone on why Discord was even friends with any of them.

Fuck only does things to help himself, and yet the Mane Six think that he's their 'friend?' Discord is the kind of "friend" that is only poison. Even in the finale he only went along for Fluttershy's horse pussy rather than wanting to help anyone else.

Also the show contradicted the comics with both Changeling episodes.

What's blind about it? I think her design is cute but it doesn't change the fact she's a deliberately sociopathic character inserted to grate on adult sensibilities. Originally a throw away character from a pair of episodes that was supposed to assure us the staff aren't SJW after some staff changes, which brought in some more SJW-like people, suddenly she's a recurring Twi-counterpart who's problem is not respecting the autonomy or opinions of other beings? Right, no, there's basically nothing there that could be a lesson for children, her entire issue flies over the head of children who do not yet have complex theories about the minds of others. She's there to inflict weird magical tortures on Your Waifu(TM) and get away with it every single time, converting the normally positive quality of the Mane 6's acceptance and forgiveness into a twisted reflection of modern leftism.

Starlight Glimmer is literally something which is being inflicted upon you for being a "FUCKING WHITE MALE" who has the temerity to like cartoon horses.

Oh well, at least the fact people are still furious with "bronies" this many years after the fact is pretty amusing. But really, Hasbro would be free to run this IP into the ground over the next ten years making another 2-4 billion in retail where the higher figure is if you, The Brony, are removed from content creation. The fact pony porn pops up on the first page of a google image search related to the show has probably cost them well over 500 million in lost sales.

It's only going to get more disgusting and repetitive. Glim is chemotherapy and you're the cancer. Oh and the original brony stand-in character being assaulted first was symbolic, your voice will be stolen from you.
