I read through the first 1k words or so. Was driving so just a quick glance. I'd love to see this do well there, so a bit of advice I have from that quick look is that it could really use a pass by a prose-savvy editor. Stuff that probably works OK in green doesn't always translate well to paragraphs. Saw some bits of repetition that can jar a reader, and phrasing felt a bit jarring too. One notable example is 2 sentences in the first paragraph ending with "in the moment".

I'd offer, but as long and involved as this story is, I just wouldn't have the time.

While they probably regard people in an amoral or cynical, we don't know if they'd take that to their kids (favouring the fittest while caring little for the runt, if at all) or if they'd make an exception and be loving or fiercely protective of them.

I think Sonata is a little too static. And while I like her ears, I think they'd look better if she was tilting her head a little and looking confused. Also she seems to have a different viewing angle than the other two. I don't know how to describe it. The viewer sees her from straight front while the other two look like he is looking at them from a higher point.

Another update after forever.

I ended up having to move again so I wasn't able to work on it much this past while. But I'm all settled in and I like this new place a lot better anyway. I look forward to continuing it regularly. It's just about the only thing I can think of keeping me calm while I'm at work.

I realize I might have got a little caught up in this scene, it wasn't supposed to be this long. Anyway, actual important stuff that brings us back to the Dazzling next time.
