What I think would be an amazing episode would be the map calling 2 of the ponies to Celestias school and after a while of searching and not finding a problem between the students or professors, they discover that the problem they have to fix is reuniting Celestia and Sunset. I'm sure they both want to see each other again and that would work perfectly as a cutie map episode, a Celestia episode and a Sunset episode.

Haven't browsed around then. Glimmer is the most hated thing since Twilicorn at this point. I think the comparisons are a bit more unfair as Sunset has had a bit more time to develop and they're going for a much slower "reformation" with Starlight. If people think she's still horrible a season or 2 from now after she's finished fully becoming "good" then I'll give it to them but for now it seems a bit premature. Also everything else in EG besides Dan Ingram's music and the Dazzlings are pretty garbage so Sunset looks way better by comparison since she's pretty much carrying the movies at this point. Also the fact that they're slightly similar to eachother makes comparisons inevitable and for some reason people feel like they're only allowed to like one.

There are several things I'd like to see in the show, but the only things I need are these. As long as this happens, I think I'll be happy with the season.

Spread Glimmer's screen time out more evenly. Giving her a ton of focus episodes and virtually no minor appearances was a mistake. If she's going to feel like a natural part of the show, she needs to be able to appear in stories that are about other ponies. Toss her into a few group episodes, give her some paired stories with other main characters besides Twilight. That way she won't feel like an outsider who's taking over the story.

This principle applies to a lot of recent changes, honestly. When a new development is ignored anytime it's not of direct consequence, it feels meaningless. The main six have quite a significant role in Equestria now and it'd be nice to see how that affects their everyday lives. If they have one of their weekly mental breakdowns, does it end up in the newspaper? Does Twilight have trouble keeping up with the map, Starlight, and her royal duties at the same time? Does Rainbow Dash ever get called away on a friendship mission when she's supposed to fly with the Wonderbolts?

One of the biggest strengths of season 5 was how it included the more extraordinary aspects of Equestria even in ordinary situations. We didn't see as much of that in season 6, and I hope it's not something the writers have decided to leave behind.

I somewhat agree. MLP should never be a serious, action-centered show, but this latest season seemed afraid to put any significant spectacle onscreen at all. It's telling that an episode about changelings, which have guaranteed a fight or two in all prior appearances, was resolved with a speech about friendship and a magic beam this time. Even their initial victory over the main six was kept offscreen, which made it seem rushed and anticlimactic. At least we could have seen them put up some resistance.

It's like the show doesn't know how to have fun with its two-part episodes anymore. When was the last time we saw ponies have a big, slightly silly battle with some kind of monster? A little excitement isn't going to kill us.

TL;DR: I'm starting to miss Tirek and I didn't even like Tirek.

I was going to say that it's really funny that so many people prefer a character literally created to sell ugly toys instead of a character who wasn't requested by Hasbro.

But then again, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy are characters literally created to sell ugly toys too. Sunset is actually much more similar to the mane 6 than Starlight.

The finale needed Thorax to destroy the Throne with his love and Discord kicking some ass for just 5 seconds. The instant transformation felt just weird. Like maximum 1 min of fighting and then Thorax can have a 10 sec argument to get all the changelings to join him.

I think Nu-Glim is hated because the writers make her really stupid. She constantly blurts out the most blatant and obvious things. But it hasn't been just her. Even Twilight had to whisper to Spike that she wanted to go with Starlight to the Festival, after the whole situation is already explained by her look and Trixie being obnoxious to her. I just had that they keep making Starlight tell what happened before over and over again.
