I wish the writers had done more with her rivalry with Twighlight. Magic duel was good, but it took 2 seasons just to get to it. And then it was ANOTHER 2 seasons before she showed up again.

A few episodes where they clashed would have been appreciated. It wouldn't even necessarily need to be a contest of their magic, but a battle of wits. Twilight is more studied, obviously, but Trixie's experience as a performer and being well traveled would have granted her far superior street smarts. It would have made for some interesting dynamics in the episode.

I'd be perfectly happy to have more Glimmer if she serves as a supporting character who studies with Twilight and hangs out with Trixie instead of twisting the entire show to revolve around her. That is what Faust had in mind originally with Trixie: for her to be a recurring antagonist and I suppose to have a frienemies relashionship with Twilight and the others.
Yet for once I like what the writers did with her this season, they made like Glimmer with No Second Prances and I hated her since the beginning of season five.

Trixie used to be a total bitch in my book, but she has grown on me
not to waifu material, but to the point where I am tolerable to seeing her on screen
I have to admit, that Trixie was fantastic in the season finale
the way she stuck it to Twilight was funny and her back talking to Discord was fun to watch
