Episode was nice. Liked the jokes. However, I must admit, it felt like fanfiction. Like, these ponies had awkward names, were pretty much Dash clones with their own tail patterns, their designs were a little jarring, and they're totally fucking. Also, that pink and red fangirl pegasus sounded like a VA picked up right off the street. However, it was nice seeing Twily being booky and Dash being a selfish cunt. Spitfire was the best, though.

Overall, I give it a solid B. A weak note to enter the hiatus, but it balances out because the finale was 10/10 and was supposed to air last anyway.

Unfortunately, no requests this time. Starting tomorrow I'll be worked like a dog for at least a week, possibly more. No time for drawing, sorry. Also you'd all ask for PRINCESS OF FLYING anyways.

That was pretty enjoyable.
Really simple episode, some likeable new ponies, Spitfire wasn't a cunt. Cute ponies, as always. Twilight and Dash's interactions were fun, although there wasn't as much of that kind of stuff as I wanted. Vapor was great, Sky was too unlikable at the start but improved at the end. I still wasn't rooting for him though. A better ending would have been he fails and resolves to try again next year after having actually worked to improve, but that kind of thing doesn't really happen in this show.
I didn't like Twilight's speech about the princess of friendship shit. She managed to learn to fly from square one as an adult, that's way more motivating than "I made a couple friends and the god-princess gave me wings, so you can do more wing-pushups." It just felt out of context and self congratulatory. Still, minor complaint about one scene, most everything else was pretty solid.
7.5/10, can't help but be a little disappointed in this as the effective finale episode, but that's not the show's fault.

I get the whole "we're not evil and black anymore" but fuck, they just looked terrible by the end. They could have done something like Thorax's wing change or just anything subtly more colorful but they decided that apparently every changeling needs to be the entire color spectrum.

Changelings were always pretty much as they always advertised. Bughorses that live in a hive in a big swarm, eat love and hiss and be generally gross bugs. Thorax was an outlier, but even he was a weird bug who hissed.

Now what are they? What could they possibly do in future episodes?

Well yeah, I would say the greatest flaw with the ending bar none was that all of the changelings had enough stored love to use their love ray on each other (and that it worked). It's totally illogical and just stinks of a rushed ending.

However, it was absolutely not easy for Thorax to get ponies to willingly love him. And Chrysalis' punishment for desertion is death, so...
