Hey /mlp/ its been a long time. I used to be a brony that would visit this board a lot, pretty much everyday. Anyway I've been gone from the fandom for a long time and have been curious how it is today? I stopped watching the show after season 4 and wonder how the show is going so far. Has it gotten better? Worse? If you could summarize how the series has gone since season 4 that would be great of you.
Im interested and hearing about it again and somewhat considered giving it another watch for old times sake. Also what episode from the newer seasons would you recommend?

The show has changed completely. It's pretty much a different show. Now we have the pony version of Poochie as a new main character, and most episodes revolve around sitcom-style cringe humor.
If you like those things, it's better than ever. If you like the old seasons, it's absolute shit.

Just take the plunge and watch a few episodes. If you want, go on the wiki and watch episodes that sound interesting.
The show has added some new stuff, but its still the same at its core... how much could an animated show about colorful horses change, anyway?

Added main character (unlike the anons going muh new main character, I actually watched the points between the opener and finale)
The overall quality is more consistent, you have less Holy shit that was a good episode followed by holy fuckballs that was a terrible episode. Whether this is good or bad is debatable.
Spike actually got a decent episode for once.
CMC got their cutie marks, their cutie marks basically mean they help others realize their cutie marks.
Openers seem to be going along a modified version of S4 with the threat being less super powered villain (hell the last two openers have been Cult Leader who eventually becomes Twilight's student in Friendship, and the winter outside the Crystal Empire/A fucking ugly babby).
Just watch the shit you fucking idiot, then decide if you like it or want to keep staying away from it.
