Personally, I feel like the finale was the best season six has been. The changeling thing at the end was like a little bit of poop on an otherwise fairly lovely cake. Trixie, Discord, Glimglam, and heck, even Stan the changeling were great. Especially Trixie - it's like she's escaped all the seasons of flanderization and is still capable of being cute, personality-filled season 1 pone.

But the ending was SO RETARDED I've just embraced it in the same way I embrace the goofy rubber suits in Godzilla. At some point we get start enjoying the show on the basis that the writing is so bad it's good, right?

Trixie was objectively the best part about the finale. Perfect interactions with the team, showing both her boastful and caring sides, and her actually accepting being a hero of sorts. Plus she was cute as fuck.

In his sleep derived delusions he forsaw the future. That Trixie would be the one pony waifu to age like wine and only become better as the seasons marched on.

Discord was fun too, though. I enjoyed his little bit with the Fluttershy thing, where he points out how dumb he'd have to be to fall for the obvious changeling trap. His constant assurances that he was bitch-slap reality in its face as soon as he got his powers back. Like, he never really reached a point of total humility, but the small bonding points with Trixie were adorable and for the first time since his "reformation" he felt like an actual asset and a part of something.

I don't know. it was like the villains got free reign to just be who they were. Flawed, argumentative, proud, but also interested in a common goal enough to press on and do things, even if they had no sure plan because every one of them were magic types in a no-magic zone.

Not to mention them working together for a bunch of clever little tricks as a team. Shit, I'm not sure we've seen a team dynamic like that in four seasons.

Eeeeh. The gradient thing is often a poor choice. Like, if you're being serious, you should never color a character with a gradient because color changes usually have to do with things like opacity and how close something is pressed to skin or how much it's overlapping something else. Having a gradient from point A to point B is just ugly and unconvincing.

There are some other weird hang-ups. Some of them looked like the gems weren't sitting on them properly. They're all unique and I'm not convinced they spent too much time on making the rigs look good.

I dunno. It was another "Rainbow Rocks" type thing, where thank god it was only on the screen briefly because holy shit was it stupid and gaudy. Anyone know if these are trying to push some new toy?

I don't completely hate the new design (barring lime green space stag beetle deer Thorax), but rather that it's that it's evidently such a binary, global change, and the implications that the original design is inherently tied to them being evil.

Black holed changelings are now made out to be that way because they're starving, and use their disguise abilities to steal love in a parasitic way. If they ever figure out how to give love back (a revelation that evidently takes less than 10 seconds to come to), they change into the new colorful design. Unless there was a separate trigger event that caused the transformation that coincided with giving love, but no details that I saw were shown to imply that.

If the new changedlings DO turn out to be an isolated event and there can still be black-hole changelings that aren't parasitic monsters it'd be slightly better, but I have no cause to believe this is the case.

The Breyer horses sell for $20-$40 each and collectors happily buy them. I've know several people who avidly collected Breyer horses (and even the older MLP toys). Only when particularly desirable toys go out of print does they go up in value -- at least until people lose interest in collecting them.

And ALL action figure/model toys are simply plastic pieces of shit. Just depends on whether collectors (or kids) are willing to pay for them. And selling plastic pieces of shit helps to pay for creating the MLP:FiM show.

Hasbro certainly could produce some rainbow changeling toys for the GoH toy line and some collectors would certainly buy them.

I was under the impression they didn't have any because they were drones or gave it all to the queen.

In overall; meh. The designs are ok, they could be a lot worse and the only real issue I have is that they feel overdesigned. Too much shit slapped on to one character. The original poners generally restricted to 3-4 colours with 2-3 dominant ones. This just feels too detailed.
It kinda fucked up the Changelings but the writers were never interested in making a coherent world to begin with.

The finale/transformation was a bit rushed but I don't mind using more time to focus on the characters over plot contrivences.

I give it a 7/10. It was alright. The interactions between Glimmy, Discord, Trixie and Thorax were the best part and the changeling lore drags it down.
I would've liked it more if their change had been more subtle, glittery wings like Thorax and maybe some less obnoxious details popping up over time to help distinct them from one another.

Well the finale was fun and going so well right up until the end. I was really enjoying myself, which is not something I can say for hardly any of the rest of this season, and then boom. All the changelings became 14th level space deer with multi-attack, 6 invocations, mage armor, and the Dark Delerium ability.

Meanwhile, Chrysalis, for no fucking reason, says, "No, I don't want to be level 14. I'm perfectly happy sitting over here at level 2. The GM fucking sucks. High level campaigns are asinine. I may not be stronger than level 14 characters but at least I'm a better roleplayer".

Then she fucks off, but with the GM offering to let her go to level 14 any time she wants to as long as she agrees to be a lawful good character from now on.

And I don't get why she didn't agree to just level up. Why not be deceptive? Agree to give love and be god-like powerful, but then go on doing evil anyway. It was such a no-brainer, easy thing to do and she basically spat in the face of going super-Saiyan.

That's all it was. The changelings went from a bunch of low-level mooks to a bunch of high level warlocks or whatever with a new list of abilities. Not because they did anything or built up to it, but just because they got a level-up and that's how a level-up works.
