As for the preview and the synopsis, it seems that an accident caused by Applejack left a permanent emotional scar on Big Mac. I'm absolutely not OK with this. I literally can't imagine any way in which something so fucking twisted can make for a good episode. Does Dave Rapp hate Ashleigh Ball or something? Jesus, it looks like he thinks that her characters deserve dreadful episodes.

I couldn't be any less hyped/10.

Did everyone forget that people thought this would be an Apple Bloom episode? Should I just lose all hope for that right now and expect one big cruel flashback?

Yeah, you're right. A good focus episode with a solo song was very nice, but when it comes to secondary or even background roles, she's been pretty left out, this season, so I was hyped for this, to finally see her again, not doing CMC stuff. I'll just try to be happy for that much, even if the story takes up 90% of the episode. Still kind of hoping for something nice for her, anyway.

In all seriousness, I can't understand why would anyone want to see something like pic related in My Little Pony.

Both Flutter Brutter and Newbie Dash were episodes where Schadenfreude had a very important role. And, yeah, I totally get that people can like that anywhere else, but out of all the places, I really, really don't want to see shit like this on this show. It's depressing as fuck and ruins the fantasy setting.

And this episode will be again a Schadenfreude fest. Dave Rapp can't write anything else.

Well, that wasn't exactly what I was talking about. With "Schadenfreude" I meant that in both episodes you were supposed to laugh at two characters who were having a bad time. That's pretty common in fiction, but I think that it's too mean-spirited for this show, it has no fucking sense to use something like that here, and Dave Rapp not only uses it, he gives it a prominent role in the plot of all his episodes. That's plainly awful.

But I agree with what you said too. Older episodes were meant for children, that was the appeal. An episode where the moral is "stop whining and get a fucking job" definitely isn't meant for children. At least this messages, albeit useless and stupid, have good intentions, that's why I didn't care too much about them. But definitely I think this kind of shit shouldn't be on the show either. Anyway, I don't think today's episode will have one of those self-improvement bullshit messages.

At best you argue that "Flutter Brutter" would not exist without the adult fandom, but that would be because the show itself wouldn't have lasted six seasons to begin with, just in time to make The issue relevant. Again, I see the good intentions there, but I don't get the point. Why was there an episode about this? Was it for the little girl's in the fandom to support her older brothers? No, it wasn't, it was a message for grown ass men. Why do I have to be lectured about "my" issues on a children's cartoon? If I wanted cheap psychology about adulthood problems, I wouldn't be watching MLP, I'd be reading "Who Moved My Cheese?" or some shit like that.
