Character interactions and a plot that doesn't revolve around Twilight (thought 4 two-parters revolving around her student isn't much better) are good, and did some interesting world-building, but a lot of unexplained off-screen happenings in the first part and an extremely rushed Deus Ex Machina redemption of an entire race in the 2nd drag it down into the mud.
