The only realistic option was complete rejection. it would take weeks to recover from that kind of emotional blow with SUPPORT. death would have been kinder to her.

How the hell did the changelings take over again? It took an huge complex plan to capture the Princess of Love at her own wedding and control the groom before Chrysalis felt confident enough to attack with her army. Barring that, the love she siphoned over a seemingly large amount of time was the only reason she was able to beat Celestia.

Despite this, are we just supposed to believe that they were able to attack on a whim and completely eradicate all resistance within the span of Starlight's journey? The only explanation I can come up with is that they slowly and meticulously integrated themselves into the population over the course of many months/years.
