The writers are retarded basically.
Funnily enough, for all Hasbro's money grabbing, if the show was smart about the decisions it made, you could easily have a season 8 or even 9 of MLP and have the show stay at a somewhat enjoyable level.
But the show has fucked itself, and the writers are too stupid to unfuck it.
You could write episodes involving the rest of the mane 6's families, Limestone and Marble Pie are good examples of this, you could write episodes about the cool locations Equestria has to offer, such as Yak-Yak-istan or about the Diamond Dogs' home. Those were just shit of thought of as I typed. It's fucking incredible how much potential the show still has and how much the writers have to work with, but are so fucking untalented that they literally cannot see it.
As faggy as it is to say, I've never seen the show this uninspired, Roshomon episodes, racing car episodes, shitty puns involving horses that take away more and more of what drew us all to the show, Glimmer.
Basically, the show itself aren't out of idea's, the writers are. Why does everything I like turn to shit.
I can't believe I wasted all this time typing out bullshit about the problems with My Little Pony, but there you go.

There have been a few times in the series where a new location is revealed, and it's just a shitty horse pun of a major real life city and is literally that city but with horses. Shit like Manehatten or Las Pegasus which take away the adventure aspect of seeing a new location.

How did you first hear about FiM? Think about it. It probably wasn't an official advertisement.

I was here in 2011. I remember when brony musicians were producing music nonstop, some of it actually really good. Pages and pages of art that were only partly smut. Fanfictions that were the length of a novel, and engrossing in every word. People watched the show, got excited, made something, and that got other people excited about the show.

We had a feedback loop, and now our side of that loop is disconnected.
You want to save the fandom? Get off your ass and go do it.
The least you can do is to quit using your keyboard to shitpost and fuss over how the show doesn't conform to your headcanon, and go write. Scribble something on a spare sheet of paper and take a picture of it with your phone. Just fucking do something.
