I find it weird that people hate on the only 2 dynamic characters with any sort of story and change. I think it really shows how scared people can be of embracing a changing future and adjusting to new things. For you to actually think that Sunset and/or Glimmer are a copy paste of Twilight is idiotic. Twilight has had barely any change since the first episode except her wings while Sunset and Starlight are reinventing themselves in a new way. They both provide wonderful stories to follow and you shit on them because yo can except change and just because they are both unicorns that are good at magic, you accuse them of being a copy of Twilight even though the writers have established very obvious differences in each.

Humans have no problem with change, but sudden overhauls aren't really something to look forward to as a fan.

I will admit that as a character, shimmer is better than glimmer. I'm not a big fan of Equestria Girls, but I think they did Shimmer just fine. The two of them come from the same idea redemption and coming to terms with their choices, but one is done much better than the other as Glimmer has shown nothing but 'I was a bad guy' crying and moping while Shimmer has come to terms with it and progressed her character past that point. Glimmer is such a terrible character.

Starlight Glimmer was the worst thing to happen to fim. Sunset Shimmer and eqg are pointless, stupid, unnecessary additions to the pone universe. Fuck them both.

Almost every episode she's in has some tie-in to Twilight, and while I get that they're roomies and mentor/apprentice, I'd like to see her have a duo episode with other members of the M6 - if only to build chemistry with them.

I mean, shit, even Celestia didn't appear in every episode that Twilight learned something. Twilight even admitted that she shouldn't worry so much about Glimmer trying things on her own.

I just want her to feel like a more natural inclusion instead of having Twilight always looming around her to help deliver some lesson.

So just to prove you wrong, let's look at Dash over the last 6 seasons. Twilight would be a little easier, but I don't need it to be easy. Dash when first introduced didn't have much companion or care for those around her. You could see her attitude twords her friends change and while she still doesn't sugarcoat her words much, she's learned how to control them to a degree. Prime examples being episodes like Hurricane Fluttershy and Sleepless in Ponyville. She's even showed that while the Wonderbolts are her dream, she doesn't want to sacrifice her morals to make it there and she didn't. She's also been shown to still keep parts of herself that have always been there, like her defence mechanism to bullying (although the first half of newbie dash was garbage) and her straightforward-ness. Glimmer, while technically dynamic and open to change, won't be able to do the gradual change that was open to Rainbow dash because of her original mindset. If she does change, it will have to be drastic in order to fit the mold needed to seem like a good guy. Glimmer has a terribly writen character that comes off as pretty one note and it will take a large change in order to make her into something more.

Her morals have been tested by chatacters like Sassy Saddle and her life choices and opinions have also been challenged by her choice in friends and more specifically applejack. I would say the two in the main 6 who have the least build are Pinkie Pie and Applejack. Even then, they still have their moments.
