It was her turn to smile.

Her confidence, unbreakable as it seemed, could not hold. Even with the smirk on her face seemed crooked and unnatural.

On any other day, she would have cast her illusion, hidden behind her magic and her might to show the face of a brilliant changeling that held strong against any foe and any who would wish her to fall. On any other day, none would ever see anything but a smirk, and a smile.

Today was different, today everything had changed.

Today, she had no chitin to cover her body, no changeling magic to shield her from the world.

Her hoof rose up, pressing tightly against the slick black fur, wet with sweat lured out to stifle the heat on her new skin. The nigglng thought in the back of her head that this had not been a way to show her to learn to love what she was, but why she must change, began to worm it's way in, and no shake of her head in denial could break it loose.

Oh, trust me, neither do I. In fact, I'm still heavily against the idea of ShinyxCadance introducing anyone else into the fold, even if I do love the AJxShiny dynamic. The way we've molded Shiny and Cadance into such a perfect harmonized couple makes me think that of all the 'harems' we want/are trying to build, those two in particular should remain untouched.

It's funny because he was struggling to hold her up and catch a ball, but she can fly. That's the humor. It's just not the same, and I like that they use each other to go do silly things in search of a sense of the normal life they had and once aspired to, not for sexual.

But what harems besides that are we trying to build, exactly? 29 is the closest thing I could think of, but shockingly I don't think there's ever actually been legit romance moments in there.

Ah, on that, specifically with the "all the harems we want" line, I was mostly referring to the ever-growing harem concerning Shiny, from 18 to Chrysalis and others we've joked about. I'm just in the very low minority (see: just me) who wants ShinyxCadance to remain purely ShinyxCadance. That's not to say I don't care about, say, 18, or think she doesn't deserve something after all she's done, because Shiny really should take her on dates and whatnot, but on a 'serious' romantic relationship front, yeah, just Shiny and Cadance. I was always of the mindset that 18 and Chrysalis would be able to expand exponentially if they found other mates, regardless of the 'love' issue they need from Shiny. And I know how foreign that concept sounds considering everything that's happened, but that's how this series has grown, with the foreign concepts and trial and error.

Never liked that to begin with, and that's saying something as I used to write them back in the day. I like to write what I don't like just so I can feel it out, see if it can work where I'm concerned. I've also written some Shinyx18 in the past, and I like it, I just don't want it, if that makes sense.

Again, while I can't agree-I'm of the mindset that they both became much more interesting and much more fleshed out thanks to their love for Shiny and eventually Cadence, and watching it grow slowly and mature has been one of my favorite parts of the thread, and trying to push them off onto anyone else(like what some wanted to do with the 'clone shiny' idea) isn't something I think would work- I can respect the ideal at the base of it.

See, and that's why I'd like to put it through a trial basis, test the waters, explore different angles, really draw out the most from these characters. It might work, it might not (and I'm entirely skeptical that it actually would, but it is an idea and it is a possibility). And not just with them, but others, too. Like, Screwloose, she clearly has moments where she's not the unholy spawn of a fetish demon, where she has dreams and such. Based on Cordy and other incidents, she's clearly brilliant. I'd like to explore her actual scientifical mind, I'd like to put her with Twilight, see how they interact.

Trial and error will unlock a lot of hidden areas in everyone from AJ to Chrysalis. We've got readers here who are more than willing to give feedback and we can take that and make new routes. I mean, it's there, you know?

Well she was that, pretending to be her friend and loyal I mean, that was the entire crux of that story he mentioned, she was so good at it Dash got destroyed when she learned the truth.

Now as to where LD got the idea, I'd put money on the fact Dash kept abandoning her at all the worst moments no matter how hard she tried, and that she never stuck around or wanted her by her side when the big shit went down. Whenever she needed someone to help her with the job LD just learned she wasn't doing for shit, she was there, but whenever she needed a friend she called someone else.

Dash kept turning her down, never really hung out with her, but whenever she needed something she called her. I guess eventually LD just figured she hadn't ever really saw her as a friend, or at the very least she would always be second fiddle to her 'real' friends.

Dash was never her 'friend-friend', no matter how much LD did for her. Sure, she didn't hate her and said she appreciated it, but she never showed it. She never said "hey LD wanna go hang out after work?" or whatever. And this is AFTER LD completely gave up trying to get with her, which was before the hallway attack when Dash walked in on her in lingerie and turned her down and she just said 'message received'. Even when she just really tried to be her friend, to the point Dash legit believed it, she never acted like she wanted to be a real friend to her. Like, how is LD supposed to take this besides 'You act nice to me, pretend to be okay with me, but you still just see me as a co-worker at best, not a real friend." considering her views with how she thinks Dash and the other Royals rule stuff, by nepotism, wouldn't she just assume Dash thought she wasn't 'important' enough to be her friend?
