After last Summer someone leaked /merit/'s skype convos which basically confirmed it was rigged for us. That created such a large shitstorm virtually half the managers and people in charge resigned, Bors gave up, and now it's a dumpster fire mixed with panic and carelessness so there's not anyone to lead and host the next cup. All we got left is these small meme invitationals done mostly by people trying to prove themselves they got what it takes to be the next commish. There most likely won't be an autumn cup but we should be back for Winter at least.

there are 4 cups a year

2 Elite Cups (Winter and Summer)
2 Babby Cups (Spring and Fall)

The only the only teams in an elite cup that get to particpate in the next babby cup are the ones ones who were eliminated in the group stage.

/mlp/ not only avoided elimination in the group stage, but then went on to win first place in the following elimination rounds.

Therefore /mlp/ won't play in a cup again until the Winter 2017 Elite cup.

What's starting up in the comming Weeks is the Fall Babby Cup.
