We have the book which is pretty much a close description of everything that happens in the film. Writing and presentation wise there is only the VAs performances that can save this, and that's a lot of eggs in one basket.

Cut your losses, this was a terrible installment to the series.

I didn't read the book. Aside from the tidbits others were posting in the threads, including irrational shit opinions, I'm going into it almost completely spoiler free. But rest assured, I'm aware of how the vocal majority of /mlp/ has shit opinions. Fair enough. I'm still waiting for the official release before I watch it to pass judgement, but others saying it's "as boring as FG" or comparing it to S1 just makes me look forward to it more since I liked FG the most and S1 is my top season.

Friendship Games had a lot of interesting development for Sunset and Twilight, showed off Crystal Prep and its students which was exciting, the Friendship Games itself were exciting, and Cinch was actually somewhat of an interesting villain, all this before magic goes and makes everything go crazy.

These are things that make Friendship Games significantly better than Legend of Everfree, and this film has nothing similar to that.

Watched the English rip anyway, it was ok. Could have been better and a bit disappointing right near the end, but otherwise fun with the powers and I liked some of the character interactions.
