The dialogue was absolutely terrible, it only relied on gags and memes from previous episodes, instead of coming up with something new. It was painfully unoriginal.

This is a deeper issue with FiM, that they just lazily take stuff from s1/2 instead of expanding. Now Starswirl is the only famous wizard and shit like that. And this episode was particularly abhorrent in this regard.
