It has slowed down considerably, nothing in comparison to pre twilicorn confirmation.
A fuckton of people lost hope in the show after the wings.
Since then the posting has been dropping slowly but surely.
People still has hopes that the movie will bring the golden days back, but I honestly don't have much hopes on it.

fanfics are the secret, you can only talk about the show so much before it gets boring but fanfics can go forever and nobody will give a shit, people shit talk teh generals but they are one of the biggest reasons why this board is still alive after 6 years

As to what you said, I doubt that the board will die when the show ends; we'll have Gen 5 and beyond to fuel the fires of autism. Besides, some people are really fucking attached to the show. 2013 was a year of bandwagoners getting on the latest meme and then leaving for a new one when they milked it for what it was worth.

We'll probably just turn into the Sonic or Star Fox fandom after a while.

Season three Twilight became a princess.

Season four they blew up the tree house and replaced it with the awful cystal castle.

Season five the main cast completed all their life goals and it was revealed the entire universe revolves around Twilight Sparkle for some reason.

Season six opened with an alicorn baby and has had maybe two or three good episodes in total.

It's like the show has jumped the shark once every season since season 3. No fandom couldn't schism.

What "actual discussion"? The songs aren't catchy anymore, the plots are terrible, they're re-using animation, the characterization is off, and one episode was almost entirely about AJ fixing a steam pipe. Anon, I've seen the threads and "discussion" gets derailed on pretty much the first day now.

Discussion used to be anons joking about the broader implication of the episode. Did Dash fuck that catbird? Did Celestia intentionally destroy the Gala? What did Luna do on the moon for a thousand years?

Now it's only, "lol, I want to sniff catbird's armpits" because we know being a princess means nothing, we've explored the whole world and there's nothing in it, and we know what all the characters will be like when they achieve their dreams because they already achieved them and it was super boring.
