Instrument clefs are a strange thing, generally you want to stay within they're basic range (in the case of the cello, the bass clef)- however, there are times when you write so high for the instrument, that it becomes hard to read the music! In these cases, it is standard procedure to literally do a clef change in the middle of the music, so that it is easier to read. For the cello, this generally occurs in very lyrical passages that sing in the instrument's upper register. It's perfectly reasons to infer that Octavia's cutie mark indicates that she is a soloist!

Alright, so based on these figures I've done some math, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong since i'm usually terrible at calculations. Anyway, so the average height of a normal sized mare in real life is 56-64 inches or 4.6-5.3 feet tall. If we compare this to the aforementioned 3'5" (41 inches) of a mlp pony mare we can see that an mlp pony is roughly 3/4 the size of a regular mare. Now, a normal mare has a vagina between 5.9 and 7.9 inches in length which is said to be quite elastic and able to accommodate larger objects. If we reduce this to 3/4 we see that an mlp mare's vagina is roughly 4.4-5.9 inches in length with the ability to stretch given larger objects.
