This guy's art is just, ugh. They're very unlike ponies the way he draws them. Can even make it hard to make out what's happening, but this being an adventure deal away from his inclination to draw stupid background ponies should maybe be good. I'm not really looking forward to it.

You know, I actually used to defend Fosgitt. I thought with a little experience he would be the go to cute artist. But they keep putting him on action books, he's been outed as a plagiarist and he has gotten fucking worse. Was I stupid or is IDW editorial just that brain-dead and uncaring?

No it doesnt. It just makes it doubly worse that Fosgitt couldn't even be half assed to modify it to look somewhat like an actual cutie mark. Just googled "whisk clipart" and took something from the first few results.

I feel like this one should have some sort of bingo, because Fosgitt. At least to try and relieve whatever mess it'll be when it comes out.

Because of issues like this, I haven't kept up at all with the comics the last six months or so.

Has there been any noteworthy good ones?

I liked main comic #42 that had Pinkie making a comic and Friends Forevers #26 and #29 which had Shining and Blueblood on a diplomatic mission and Rarity and Maud rock hunting respectively.

Pinkie making a comic and Shining and Blueblood I happened to read, and those were pretty good I agree. Thanks for the tip on the Rarity and Maud one, I'll definitely check that one out.

The Linkara review actually brought up a good complaint about Price. He has way too much of a tendancy to put in terrible OOC gags to fill up background space even in the middle of what's supposed to be a tense or solemn moment. ("I love outlet shopping!")

Comic reviewer from Channel Awesome, he recently reviewed the Deer arc.

Just that I never really paid attention to it until now really. Looking back he does that shit everywhere, like the Siege arc suddenly ending in slapstick fighting instead of a big fight. Guy cannot keep a tense mood to save his life.

Same. First issue, my reaction was roughly similar: "Yeah, he fucked up the architecture - but they gave him no references. Yeah, he fucked up the anatomy - but it's his first major comic. And hey, at least the faces are pretty emotive. He'll probably improve once he has some more experience and time to do some research."

Nope. If anything, his anatomy has gotten even more distorted since he started and care for matching the setting is at an all-time low.

Haven't seen the review, but this has always been true of Cook and Price. They often resort to OOC moments for a cheap joke that wasn't worth it in the first place.
