If they sell, Hasbro will order a TV series based on the Guardians of Harmony concept which in turn will generate more interest and thus more toy sales. I heard of the Tirek play set, but this is were I'm confused, I thought all we got was the name. Are you suggesting the Mane 6 are in the Tirek set, or are you just saying they're confirmed to be complete?

Also, about NYCC, the other thing I'm thinking of is I feel like they don't typically reveal a lot. They reveal something really big, really new, but not all of what is to come. My money is on them showing a few dolls of the movie line. Which would be disappointing, considering the ones they'll probably show are the ones that got leaked.

From what I read, they WANTED to do a full mane six set, but they wanted it to be even Good vs evil in toy count, so they had to Cut the mane six in half for two waves.

They went with the three most popular, RD, Twilight and Pinkie. Seriously, those three are the "big three" when it comes to merching. Even though pinkie's not a big "action" character compared to AJ, for example, she's vastly more popular, so she went first.

But I'm just a bit paranoid because one Rara doll who was in a second wave that I really wanted got cancelled in 2015, and then pic related, wave 2 of the articulated ponies, the only M6 not in wave one, might get cancelled as well as she still hasn't seen release since her ToyFair reveal. I don't believe you, mostly because I fully understand why they wouldn't release the Mane 6 together on most occasions. They want you to buy more things. So, they split up the figures to effectively make you buy more. By making you wait, the intent is to make you buy the nobodies to fill up space, then buy the rest of the characters that you want. If they released all of the M6 at once, you'd just be stuck with a bunch of secondary-tier characters Wave 2. And you clearly know exactly why those 3 were released first anyway, so of course when the Mane 6 is split, those 3 are always up front.

Little girls want to "Play" with the characters, not just brush the hair; You still have them do stuff even if its just having tea parties or riding cars, and Show accuracy sells toys for that.
