Not that same anon, but Spike is a powerup, after you collect enough gems you can summon him to wreck shit for a couple seconds, you start out having to play the game with specific characters of differing stats, you start out with Shining

Ponk is on back cause I beat the game and after you do that you can use whichever character you want

Literally nothing. The extra characters (Ponk, Rambo and Twalot) are unlocked as you go thru story mode. After that you get Endless mode, which is just the first 3 stages on loop. The friendship points, as far as I've uncovered, are utterly useless.

The mistakes are unbelievably amateurish, like someone's first game. Switching between keyboard to control the game and mouse to click to the next map is tedious, it's not clear which platforms damage you and which ones you can safely pass through without jumping, and stuff like the cockatrice freezing attack seems to have no gameplay effect.

I assume if you don't tap the space bar and fall off the screen you die, but I haven't tried...does it happen? Otherwise I guess it just prevents you from getting gems or possible will lead to a death if you hit an enemy frozen? I haven't played the game since last night so idr exactly, but I should mention that the Cockatrice takes exactly as long as it takes for you to charge up a dash move between attacks, so two dashes pretty much avoid getting frozen, alternatively it will leave as soon as you summon Spike

That was kind of annoying to me at first as well, but I got used to it pretty quick...pretty much anything that seems like you can jump on, you can and should, or else you will get hit by it unless it's safely above your head
