I miss the Golden Ages of the gap between S1 and S2 - Early 2013.
When we were all young and dumb.

That's where it started to go wrong and we suffered the two wars that led the half the fandom disappearing overtime.

I miss when we used to go nuts about new episodes and there would be nothing but talking about it for the next week on some sites.

I miss the Derpy Wars of Jan. 2012 when The Last Roundup aired and we had to defend Derpy from those who would strike her down. Might be the one time the entire fandom united against an outside threat.

I also kinda miss when the whole love & tolerance thing still existed. It was nice.

I joined in Feb. 2012, and even back then I felt there was a lot of content to search through. I barely scratched the surface. I can't imagine how much has piled up since then. But I've made peace with it.

The once equally vicious and autistic but much more merry discourse I used to see in /mlp/ and backwater social media outposts of pone is a rarity nowadays. I miss when we had somewhat tasteful show and fandom discussion. Now it's just cancerous.

I honestly don't have a lot of nostalgia since I got on a bit after season three aired.

I've had quite a few good times and am still enjoying the ride. I'm made friends and have had some fade away, but overall I don't really have much of a reason to complain. There's a lot of stuff that I do miss, too much to list here reasonably, there's even stuff that I wasn't around for that I've learned to miss that I've lived through post hoc by digging through the archives.

The only thing that I is that I am a little sad that people seem to complain a lot more about how things used to be, but I suppose that's to be expected. The more things change over time the more likley people are to find that they've changed into things they don't like.

Sometimes I feel that things have changed a lot less than people seem to think they have, and that for a lot of people have just changed themselves and can't engage with things like they used to and that causes them to become resentful and jaded. Though I usually try to keep that to myself.

If I had to sum up my experience with MLP so far I would have to say that this song does it perfectly. Forgive the fact that it's EQG. If that bothers you then I recommend closing your eyes and just listening to the music. Maybe you'll feel the same too, who knows.
