HWE wasn't even about her, but Snowfall Frost, a completely different character, and despite being a predictable episode it still gets good reviews around here. Face it, Glimmer has been on point this season.

That doesn't make sense. Main character is still different from most important character. Many cases they are the same, but not all the time. Twilight also no longer is the most important character in the series. You could attribute that to S1, but now? What does she do? "Princess of Friendship"? What does that accomplish? If she's important because of that, Celestia clearly has her beat, and she's certainly no main character.

Glimmerthreads don't count. I've seen a lot of people rank S6's premier as one of the worst, too.

So you're optimistic, other people are not based off of what they've already been given. Many people, not all, but many, believe S6 has been incredibly weak overall, as such have adequate reasons for not being hyped for the finale. A big part can be Starlight's handling. Again, notably being forcing her into the show without blending her in properly. Sunset has at least received such blending, making her far more tolerable. And it's difficult to justify that Starlight has received that blending.

The writers played chicken with her. They either should have used her more in the season, or never introduced her at all. By doing what they did, they made the character stand out worse. You even admit that a whole episode, HWE isn't even about her. So how is it good by any means that a finale is given to someone with little to no role in the series, with the actual main characters forgotten about?
