PPGZ was pretty decent actually, but as a spiritual successor to the power puff girls it's right to be reviled, and shares only the barest premise of the original. It had an attrocious ammount of animation errors, but the music was still very decent, and the transformation theme, which you need to have good otherwise you may as well just /wrist the whole thing.

Despite not being too deep each character was expanded upon in ppgz instead of focusing on gags, though there are plenty. Probably the best part of watching it though is the fact that Buttercup is an oreonna.

I don't know why people love anime so much. I've tried a couple "cute girls doing cute things" animes and they were quite retardedly dull and boring. It's the kind of shit that a would-be stalker would watch who wants to watch every single stupid thing their crush does no matter how non-sexual or mundane.

See, you're going with the moe flow. There are tons of shows out there to watch ranging from hardcore action, blood, and gore, to very lighthearted shows like the one you're talking about. It's kind of hard to pinpoint something like mlp because it is rather unique. Typically shows about women doing their own thing would be found under Josei or Shojo, but both of those tend to stay rather grounded in reality leaving out the draw of the fantasy world that they live in. You can get a lot of the fantasy and action stuff from hundreds of shonen anime, but off the top of my head I can't think of anything that blends fantasy and drama/slice of life like mlp does. Usually when slice of life hits the drama, it's typically about romance because that's one of the easier things to write about.

I prefer Josei anime myself which is anime that tends to be targeted at older women. It keeps a very realistic feeling to most of it's stuff while typically giving a womens point of view on situations which is a far stretch from what most anime is.
