I mean, I think understanding characters on the level the creator intends is a strong point of mine, and I'm always about making my stories close to the official properties they're based on. That includes style, dialogue, tone. and etc.

But if you think Greg would be against it, than I have no problem not writing it.

The excellently handled enigmatic backstory of Celestia together with what little we indirectly know of her from other episodes makes the RDP Yellow Star superb.

The fandom has so much to offer, but a lot of people insist on putting the emphasis on shallow smut ahead of all else. Smut that never evolves, never creates anything truly original, and is just there for, well, cheap instant gratification.

RDP is/was a great counterpole to that mindset, arguably less sexualized than the show itself, while still being creative, funny and thoroughly enjoyable.

I fully agree the argument is true for most greentexts, but not all of them, although it's been months since I last saw a greentext aiming for something more. It's not a fault of the medium though, it's a fault of the fanbase. If at all you see it as a fault of course.
