Clover turns around into the dark confines of her room, closing the door quietly behind her. This time, she's more than sure that her "home" is about to fall apart.
She digs through her small stash of belongings-it was less sparse when her dad was around, but when he didn't come home, they had to "make do" with what they had. She takes an old rucksack from under her bed and begins to stuff her belongings inside.
Somehow she knew this would happen. The tears begin to form before it's all said and done. She found only a select few items worth snagging; her wooden dagger, a doll her father gave her, the candle from the nearby windowsill, just in case she needs light.
From the hallway, she can hear her mother and "father" moving about, the rest of the argument having fallen through.

Clover scans the room for any books or items she can take from what little she owns. Unless if she wants to bring a few broken toys with her, she'll have to stick with what she found. The thumping from outside is becoming more apparent, her parents moving around without words between them.
She decides that tonight is the night. She can't live like this anymore. She knows that the only thing her mother can give her is a hushed hug and maybe a biscuit for the road, if there were anything left to eat in this house.
Deciding not to put her and her mother through the pain, she tosses open the window quietly, stepping up and tossing her mostly empty bag onto the grassy floor below. She follows through with herself, landing on her hooves with a quiet thump.
Clover is outside of the house now. She doubts she can climb in through the window on her own to get back in, and she doesn't think it'd be smart to head through the front door. Not with her Step Father on watch.

I'd like to say the CYOA writers are great. But after talking to them for five minutes, I learned that I was 100% wrong. A lot of them are just assholes.
Until further notice, no systems are in place. This is just a narrative. A really sad narrative with no fun allowed, since that's what's expected. I'll start again with a new thread tomorrow. Please let this one die in the mean time.

Hijacker is the only one that actually bothered to read his design doc and found a bunch of glaring flaws in it. So Hijacker invited him to secret club and started info dumping at him, telling him what he thought was incorrect and where there were holes.

After a while, instead of discussing it back he just tried to avoid the criticisms and eventually bitched out saying he's been bullied out of systems. It was pretty much just Hijacker too.

If he wanted to use his pristine systems he could have told Hijacker to fuck off. If he wanted to improve them he could have had an in depth discussion with Hijacker and took or declined suggestions. Hey, another QM here who also participates in the secret club sometimes. I'm sorry that things went so bad with secret club last night. I just got done reading your introduction to this quest and I would to see it continue. Honestly I haven't seen your systems that you planned mess anything up yet and just because some of the people you talked with are QMs with more experience does not mean they can run your quest. You should be allowed to experiment make mistakes and get messy as you see fit.
God knows I've made some bad choices while running and people still enjoy my content despite that. Just try to keep improving and you'll be fine no matter what you do. Trust me, I've made plenty of mistakes and I'd like to think that I've learned because of it.

Really it was more that another QM started picking apart this one's systems, probably coming on too strong, maybe expecting this guy to have a thicker shell. This QM started acting really defensively and things kicked off.
Honestly I wasnt around for the happenings, but seeing what i'm seeing and hearing what i'm hearing I really think this guy is being too reactionary. From what i've gleamed no one was suggesting he remove the system entirely, just make some changes. And it's not uncommon at all for a qm to get suggestions from his peers, I did and some I listened to and some I didn't. But what I definitely didn't do was act like an angry child and throw everything out the window at the slightest moment of contention. I mean worse comes to worse the QM could've just continued on without listening to the advice. Sure he might've gotten some flak for that but really picking on people for the sake of picking on people isn't a goal of anyone as far as i've seen.
