It is entirely possible to play this game without spending a single shekel. It just takes longer. The Android version gives you free shit every day, progressively better rewards every day you open the app, ranging between bits, xp, gems, and ponies.

It's a nice timewaster. You log in, get the sop income, dance in minigame once a week and fuck off, basically. Plus, it has a quest system, that follows the storyline of the show(mane 6+ luna are voiced by an actual show cast). If we talk about pone, you're guaranteed to get one every week, if you play that eqg minigame and most of them are unlocked with crystals, that drop with levels, quests and bonus shit from ads. Not to mention, if you really wanna get some exclusive shit, you can dedicate a few hours to competing in their global challenge bullshit. There's a fuckton of ways to turn the waiting game into an actual time waster. Now, what's your argument?

You're playing it with the wrong attitude. If you treat it like a virtual fish tank but with ponies, and open it up to watch the ponies dance and shit, you'll get a good handful of gems every day. I finished the campaigns in 9 months without spending a cent, and that's with going weeks at a time sometimes without touching it.

I can't help you as i have the really crappy version of this game. Which version, the windows phone version. I see pictures all the time of the game and the sheer amount of features excluded is nerve reckoning. Anyway one thing I am able to do is create gem farms. So at the least I have that going for me.
