I think that the editor op is using doesn't support external formats. Also, for an 8-bit game, FL and Ableton are overkill. Classic chiptunes made with something like ModPlug are the way to go.

Yeah. For anyone curious, PICO-8 comes with Voxatron, so getting Voxatron is probably the better deal.
