To think he isn't an element at all, but then he might be better than some of them.

Well, he hadn't opportunity to show blunt honesty like AJ, but he also has hard labor, if to take his age for that account.
Not sure about Pinkie's laughter, but he is sardonic. Deadpan humor is just some, some other kind of it.

some issue I'd like to see about him.
- messed up identity (?) as he lives with ponies
- does he have still some guilt after greed rampage?
- he still didn't went over the crush, would they go over it already?
- (debatable) How was he raised and by whom? How does he identify celestia / twilight / twilight's parents?
- You might have the impression, that he is like a servant / "slave" towards Twilight. Why is that? Self-imposed duty? Effect of being neglected? Or perhaps Celestia gave him separate task to look out for Twilight?
- Is Twilight giving him enough attention for proper child upbringing?
- will he grow up normally? given the fact, that he is not in natural habitat, something might go wrong with his body / wind development
- Did he and if so HOW would he dealt with fact that he will outlive nearly every pony he befriended with, a.k.a. immortality blues

That's literally every hero ever in both fiction and non-fiction. The only reason the M6 are heroes is because they all happened to be living in Ponyville at the time NM returned.
He still faced obstacles and hard choices that many wouldn't overcome.

Time for my Crack Spike Head-Canon again:

Spike is actually an adult dragon, only neither he nor the Mane Six know it--only Celestia does. You see, Celestia acquired Spike's egg centuries ago, but did not know how to hatch it. So, she preserved it by casting an Age spell over it so that it would not die.

Celestia then decided to use the enchanted egg as a test of young unicorns' power, to see if any were strong enough to dispel the powerful magic she had cast over it. Enter Twilight Sparkle, who in "The Cutie Mark Chronicals" was just that powerful.

Here's the catch, though: Age spells don't actually stop you from aging. All they do is put the process on hold until the spell is removed. One dispelled, you revert to your "natural" age. So when Twilight broke the spell, Spike suddenly went from an egg to his "natural" form, which was a centuries-old dragon. Celestia had to quickly slap on another Age spell to dial Spike back to a hatchling, and he's been a baby dragon ever since.

The only other time we've seen Adult Spike is in "Secret of My Excess". Zecora's diagnosis that Spike's greed was causing him to grow was almost, but not quite correct--his greed was actually disrupting the Age spell on him and letting his "natural" age reassert itself. Only Spike's love for Rarity caused him to overcome his greed, and thus allow the spell to snap him back to his baby dragon size.

Am I the only Spike person who doesn't mind his size or doesn't care if he has wings? I get tired of Spike's size being "proof" of his age despite evidence to the contrary. I stopped reading things written about Spike years ago when the writers kept reshaping Spike to the point of some perfect OC in a bad story.

Maybe not meeting a dragon like Spike means he's apart of some class of smaller dragon that aren'the around much anymore. Anyone else feel the same?

The comic already made this mistake. It's one of the reasons I'm worried about the show referencing the comics more and more.

The problem, in this instance, was that it completely contradicts the show. Ponies no next to nothing about Dragons and are still a mystery.

But in the comic there is an entire district in the middle of a pony city populated with dragons. There are several other instances in the comics that are flat out irreconcilable with show canon.
